1. How to get Galapagos marker? One way is "Off Course" roll when searching for Kumaro. That is clear.

2. Can I start normal exploration at north hex of "To South America" or at explored hex to NW from it. Then use 3 "Explored Hex" to achieve Galapagos, then get marker and go to Lost because of 6 knots gathered?

3. Are Galapagos and Unfortunate attol type islands? Can I move Canoe there for 1/2vp.

4. If Canoe can be moved there would I get Galapagos marker automatically?

Thanks for clarification!

The Galapagos and Unfortunate Islands only come into play when the Kumara (Sweet Potatoes) Advanced Rule is in effect. So:

1. Going "Off Course" (at least once) while attempting to reach South America with the Kumara rule is the ONLY way to get the Galapagos Marker.

2. No. The Galapagos marker only applies to the Kumara rule, not to normal Exploration.

3. No, they are not Atolls.

4. No. You can only... well, read #1 above.

Hope this helps!

Then Kumara seems too luck depended and too situational for what it gives. Probably worth attempt only on the very last round. If all your answers were Yes then East direction would be more attractive. Thanks, Kevin, for making clear anyway!

Going for sweet potatoes is certainly not the first thing you want to do. But if the choice you have is either Turning Inward for one lousy Build Point or taking a chance on Kumara, then go for it! Especially if you have one of the Arts & Culture cards that help you- then it's a good bet!
