I noticed that the rating of best player number has 2 players recommended at 70% or so. Can anyone shed any light on how the game is with 2?

I prefer it with three but it plays perfectly well with two. I know some people suggest reducing the map size with only two players but I don't think that is necessary unless you feel the need to increase the likelihood of conflict (which is still pretty likely anyway, in my experience).

3 is the ideal number, I think, but I have played a few times 2-player. It is more of a wargame that way, I think.

The game works with two but like everyone else said, I would rather play it with three.

If there's only two of us i'd rather play Mottainai. Its a very different game but it still scratches that Chudyk itch of having cards do a lot of different things.

3 may be the sweet spot of the game, but I've played a good number of Impulse games with 2 players, and it works perfectly well. I had a lot of memorable games at this player count too.

The 2p game is okay with the normal map, but when we tried taking away the top and bottom rows (i.e. deal out 4-5-4 instead of 3-4-5-4-3), everything 'clicked'-- the balance felt just like 3p, which was my favorite player count for the game before. Highly recommended.

Came here to say the same about the Innovation team play.

plus, I liked Red7. it's a breeze to explain and so quick to play.

I like Flowerfall too. Impulse is the only complex Chudyk game I have played.
