I Kickstarted this game. The solo variant was one of the reasons I did so. I was confused when I tried it solo (see other threads, I was confused in similar ways).
My son and I played today. He's 10. We enjoyed the game. I won't mention who won (it wasn't him).
After the game, he initiated a strategy discussion, which included the following points. The best buildings are those that give you resources without requiring input. So the first player should connect to both of those. The second player then needs to spend an action on Cloudburst to achieve a similar connection. But then...
I look forward to his beating me, although I hope to eke out a few more victories first.
I can also attest that the two-player version plays nicely and pretty straight forward with the rules doing a good job. So nothing to be nervous about here. A surprising amount of game here (and table top space, lol). I picked up my copy at UnPub and am happy I did. Thank You.
