Rising conservative prodigy Tomi Lahren has been kicked to the curb by Glenn Beck. She will no longer get paid to say mean things on 'The Blaze,' and will presumably be forced to do so at one of several million other sites instead.

http://pagesix.com/2017/03/26/shake-up-causes-drama-at-glenn...

She's presumably getting the boot for suggesting that conservatives are hypocrites for being anti-choice, since it's essentially letting the government dictate what a woman can or can't do with her own body. A conservative having a non-standard opinion could possibly lead to healthy and fascinating debate within their own community, so mercifully, she was snuffed out. Now her peers can go back to writing think pieces about how the evil liberal hive mind won't tolerate anything under than 100% compliance.

Kind of a weird play for Beck, who seemed to be in some wacky, tolerant mid-life crisis. Chilling with Samantha Bee, apologizing for his past behavior, etc. Probably something to do with money. Money's cool.

Hopefully this won't stop Lahren from assuming Ann Coulter's throne, once Coulter has finally done enough to sate Azathoth's demented whims.

This to me points to the real reason we have so much polarization, and why the US has turned into a broken system. It's not the internet for isolating us: It's cable news for leading us to the ultimate end of monetized news.

When we look at cable news, for the most part we see terrible defenses of ideologies. Sometimes we might see someone capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time, but they never have the time to explain anything: We have formats that are built to create emotion, be entertaining, and to get people to watch the news more. How can we expect people to be well informed when it comes to policy if most of the discussion is all in black and white?

There's very few places where we see serious journalism, or economic discussions where different points of view are well defended, and we don't see politics as us vs them, and a single different opinion is enough to get labeled a traitor. The really unfortunate part is that the people that pay for that kind of news tend to be highly educated nerds, and those tend to lean left. This void of good conservative thought is what gave us the alt right, where the idea of ideological leadership is Milo and Moldbug.

I wish there was a good way out of this hole, but there isn't much of an incentive for people to read higher quality news and opinion. When we find ourselves with someone competent in government, it's by accident (thanks Obama)

Real conservatives know that women can't have credible opinions on abortion.

It's amazing how often racial superiority is advocated by those who disprove their own theories.
