1. The La Brise Sanguine faction tide card "IMPRESSIVE LANDING" states that, "When a friendly hero successfully rigs - All enemy heroes suffer silence". Does this affect undeployed, ko'ed or overboard enemy heroes?
2. Another La Brise Sanguine tide card "EMERGENCY ROPE" states that, "This hero may immediately perform a rigging check from this zone to any other zone within 4. It passes the check on a 3+."
I was under the impression that a rigging check had to be made to an adjacent boat, but this card makes it sound like the hero can move to a zone on the same boat. So, can a hero using this card perform a rigging check to move up to 4 zones on the boat they are currently on?
Any help would be much appreciated.
1) For this one it comes down again to the debate about "deployed hero" vs "hero" issue. The way I interpret it, is that if it doesnt say "deployed", then the attack or skill can target any hero. I know for sure at least for the Kraken's summoning condition and its one attack that says "deployed", its been confirmed the summoning damage hits ALL heroes vs the one attack is only the ones deployed on the boat. My group had interpreted that to go for all hero skills, tho I dont think ive seen a hero with a "deployed" hero condition so its hard to compare...
2)I had a question about this as well. There's a S1 Merc from the Skullkicker expansion who does similar (can do a Rigging Check to any other zone when ending a move on a spot with another friendly hero). I think the difference though is in the slight wording of the rules. The rulebook makes a specific point to separate "Rigging" and "Rigging Check" when explaining it. For you to perform "Rigging", that is when you have to check if you are on the edge of a boat adjacent and have a move point to spend. Once you confirm you can perform a "Rigging" you then make a "Rigging Check" which is the distance part and dice roll. That's the logic we use at least and so when a card/skill says "perform a rigging check" we just assume its bypassing the "are you on the edge of the boat" check in the "Rigging" phase.
