My experience playing Keldon is that the AI takes a lot of risks. It rarely (if ever?) keep cards in hands for later use. It puts down what brings the most reward immediately if it gets lucky on the next draw, it crushes you. If it doesn't, then you get an opportunity to come back. When it doesn't draw any synergy after a couple of turns, it scores very poorly.

The Hard AI is pure Keldon.

Just played other 5 games and won 3 (Hard AI, base game only, 2-player advanced), one of them 50 to 21! This is definitely NOT the same Keldon AI I have on my desktop. I don't know if it's bugged, or dumbed down or limited in some way. I doubt it's a problem of cpu power, I'm playing on Nvidia Shield K1 and as far as I know a neural network AI needs a lot of cpu for the training but not while playing.
As I said, other than this the app is excellent, playing on my 8" tablet is pure joy and I don't regret buying it, but it's probably going to join the long long list of apps with "not good enough AI".

This hasn't been my experience; it may be that you got a sample where the AI had a few bad hands.

Certainly crushing wins aren't a sign that the AI is bad; it's always been my impression that the thing Keldon's AI is trained to aim for is winning over losing, and it doesn't care about the score differential. It's not that uncommon to see it "give up" and essentially make random moves once you have a convincing winning position, meaning you can rack up the score if you so choose.

^^ This
Repeating wins is one thing. Repeating winning streaks is another.

I remember having read somewhere that the AI had been trained mainly for 3P/4P play, and is not that sharp for 2P advanced.

No, it's trained at all player number sizes.

- The Rebel Cantina has the small "Rebel Military world" icon, instead of "Rebel non-Military world" icon.

- The app does not allow you to overpay for military worlds using pumpable military settle powers, which is rarely necessary, but can come into play with Improved Logistics.

I can see people doing this with an exp #3 card Retrofit & Salvage Inc., as a means to keep that player from taking your end of round discards, or taking less of them.

Also, make sure you're able to discard a card like New Military Tactics from tableau even if you don't need it... like if you already have the mili-str, or for non-mili-worlds even though you place it by paying for it instead.

I'm having an issue where my completed online games show up and I can't get rid of them. I click the trash icon, and it asks if I want to "Forfeit" my completed game (which doesn't make much sense), and if I click yes, it disappears, but as soon as I go back into the Online Games screen it has reappeared. Now I've started a new game and it shows up on the second "page" of online games, making it harder to track, because the first page is all stuffed with completed games I don't care about.

If you click the "Done" button on the score page, that should remove the game from your games list.

Were notifications disabled in the paid version? I only see the in-app notification (not the "It's your turn" external notification.

No, it's there.

Sometimes. :/

I haven't been able to figure out why the notifications are inconsistent, but it's super annoying when they don't show up.

FWIW, another thread mentioned that greysphere and the team are working on figuring out why notifications aren't working correctly

Any news yet when we'll be able to play an asynchronous game across different devices? I play on my iPad but when I'm not at home I'd like to continue the same game on my iPhone.

[Edit] just to clarify, I want to be able to play the same game on iPad and iPhone.

Also, any news when the next patch will be released?

In the 1.0.1299 Android build, the black screen issue on my Amazon Fire tablet model SV98LN (5th generation) running FireOS 5.3.3.0 has been fixed.

So whatever done to fix the black screen issue with Samsung devices has also fixed FireOS (at least for the model that I have, anyway).

Android 1.0.1313 is crashing after the game score screen, which means it's still playable but mildly frustrating. Moto G4 play.

Man I'm really enjoying it, other than that. Can't get people to play this game often enough in person.

Started a game against the Hard AI. Won. Hit "Rematch". App crashed.

When I start the app again, the "resume game" button appears. If I click on it, it takes me to the end of that game. If I hit "Rematch", the app crashes again.

When a player can't play a dev or settle phase because they have no affordable card in hand, their turn is automatically skipped. This can be a bit confusing in async games for the player whose turn has been skipped, but worse, it is an information leak for the other players.

Loving the app! Android, most recent version.

Not 100% certain if this is a bug or rule interpretation that I am getting wrong, but I think it is the former...

I have Galactic Trade Emissaries (GTE) and Contact Specialist (CS) in play. I go to settle a 3-cost military world (Rebel Warrior Race). It says "Select a settlement power to settle Rebel Warrior Race." However, it only lets me select either GTE or CS, not both. My understanding of the rules is that you can combine settle discounts such that I should be able to select both GTE and CS for a combined discount of -2. The Rebel vs. Imperium manual states the following for the Settle Pay for Military icon:

"As an action, the player
may place a non-Alien
military world ( ) as a
non-military world ( ). The cost is
the world’s defense, with any other
applicable discounts
." (my emphasis).

Thanks!

You can combine a pay for military power with any applicable settle discount. However, you cannot use 2 different pay for military powers to settle a single world. Once the first has been used, the world is considered as a non-military, which is why the second cannot be used.

It's probably referring to the "Rebel Pact" card which gives an additional discount when using a pay-for-military power.

Not only. Applicable discounts are also all the normal settle discounts like Replicant Robots, Colony Ship and Alpha Centauri for example.

Not sure if this is a bug but it looks like it to me. I wanted to settle a 4-cost alien world, I have 4 military power already accrued but the alien robot scout ship was not available to select when I came to settle. Anyone know why?

The contact specialist gives you -1 military power.

Hi Ulrich - yes that's just been pointed out to me. However I don't think that it's that clear. In my mind I read it as -1 military when only attacking non-alien worlds.

Given a negative modifier to the attack value I'd prefer to see all military values updated to show the original values and the new net values (perhaps shown in parenthesis?).

Oh that's interesting, show the specialized totals rather than bonuses... one slight issue might be the times when they combine, ie a rebel brown world gets both bonuses, and you'd have to then do quite a bit of mental juggling to calculate your strength. Will think about it.

FWIW, just remember that the -1 in white background means ALL military.

I'm curious to see about this too, as I can see these figures ballooning into something that takes up a lot of space.
In this case, you could just say
+3
+0
-1

However, if I were to take a stab at mapping out all of the possibilities....
REBEL
REBEL brown
REBEL green
REBEL blue
blue
brown
green
yellow

If you guys get to the Xeno Invasion expansion, then you'll also need to add:
XENO
XENO ALIEN
XENO brown
XENO REBEL
