Hello fellow Zombie enthousiasts!
I wanted to share some ideas for a Zombicide crossover with the Overlord mechanic from games like Conan and Omega Protocol. I thought it would be fun to make some campaigns where you are able to control the zombies yourself.
This is still in the idea phase so I have not thought up any campaigns or new rules. I have begun to make some game parts to be able to to playtest.
First I cut out the board from some foam I had lying around. I made extra spaces to playtest some extra options to use as an overlord.
I glued this to a piece of thick cardboard.
I made my own enemy cards, number chits, overlord chits and refresh (reserve/fatigue) zone cards to put into the overlord dashboard.
The idea for the overlord options was that you could maybe spawn zombies in beds, in dumpsters or even sewers if you pay extra as an overlord. Just some ideas I am going to try out. The middle standard chits are paying for movement, defense and rerolling.
I also made a track for the health of the big bosses and the remaining rounds tracker.
I have made 4 different power refresh tiles with various post-apocalyptic backgrounds for defense, offense and movement but also for the type (standard, toxic, skinner etc). I added some experimental abilities which I still have to figure out what they will actually do.
I made enemy tiles for all the miniatures I possess. I have created some ability symbols that would fit the character/miniature in some way. I also added a type symbol to see what is toxic which also funtion as an ability. Like taking a toxic wound or a skinner turning into a crawler as usual.
I also created a downed back of the tile when all units are dead from a certain type.
For fun I also created some tiles from other miniature games I posess like Nexus Ops and the Aliens vs. Predator game.
As a nice detail I made different types of blood for the various type of aliens!
And the final result for the Overlord dashbard. I replaced the Catan number tokens with custom zombicide ones, bought some nice energy parts and spraypainted the dashboard in a nice dark color.
Because I am still in a experimental phase I would love to hear your suggestions and thoughts about this new do it yourself option to create a whole new zombicide experience!

This is a wonderful idea! Excellent work creating your custom dashboard and cards.
I've been wanting to do something like this, but with Left 4 Dead.
