Boardlandia has been my go to board game shop since I've gotten into games and just yesterday I saw they are closing / selling the shop.

Someone should totally but this. Someone should totally buy this that will keep it in Appleton.

Here is a link to his message about the closing / for sale dealio -

https://boardlandia.com/blogs/news/boardlandia-com-is-for-sa...

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems as appropriate a place as any. I know that quite a few people on here have place orders through Boardlandia and figured I'd pass on the info. Hopefully someone ends up picking up where the current (soon to be previous) owner took off.

I'm guessing $200k? Not bad for a profitable business.

It would be nice if he mentioned a price in all that business info.

Only gross profit is mentioned. The lack of net profit (the far more important number) being listed is worrisome

This bums me out. Tim is great, and I love Boardlandia. I hope someone with his passion and people skills can scoop this up.

You are guessing really high.

And there is no evidence that the business is profitable.

He's taking offers, so no price is listed. What is also apparent in the fine print is that inventory is not necessarily included in the sale price (although it's for sale too), which makes valuation somewhat harder. It's relatively easy to determine the value of inventory by looking at the wholesale cost and date of purchase. The value of having a "loyal customer base" - not so easy. Interested buyers pretty much have to guess how much "good will" is worth when buying the name "Boardlandia".

Although I suspect that anyone who is seriously interested will contact the owner and have a more in depth conversation about the details.
