Hi, it's Francois. Yes, sir. Francis. Space Cowboys.
Make yourself comfortable and have a pen.
Well, then. Let's not waste time.
Ra is the God of the solar disc in Egyptian mythology and the creator of the universe. It may appear in two other forms, that of khépri, the dung beetle symbolizing birth or rebirth or encore, being completed (The Egyptian Clergy explained that the solar star could take different forms during its race in the sky: Khépri was the rising sun while ra was the sun at its zenith and atoum, the setting sun. Over time, Atoum (the setting sun) is gradually assimilated by Egyptian theologians to the shape of ra (the sun at its zenith), so that we talk about re-Atoum, the creator God, who presides over the Great ennéade made up of the nine main gods. Later, ra was also associated with several other gods like amon to become amon-RA.
There are several versions of his birth. In one of them, it would be attributed to the goddess neit, who would have put ra into the world in the form of an egg. Ra came out of the egg and was blinded by light. This light shed tears from his eyes, where the first men were born. However, there is a more classical version narrated by Neil Philip in his work myths and Legends: it seems that ra created himself by naming himself, as he will create the elements of life by bringing them out of the noun, the Primordial Ocean. He became the main deity under the ancient empire. He is often represented with a falcon head on which the solar disc protected by the trained cobra is placed.
The God ra was also strongly associated on the day of the year. The day of the Egyptian year was the occasion of a "Feast of ra" according to a papyrus and a ostracon of time, and according to two other papyrus, it was the day of his birth. But already, in the texts of the pyramids, ra was considered "Master of the year".
All this to tell you that the temple of ra is now available. Where? Here! Careful, it's very (very) well, but it stings. You'll be notified.
