I'm wondering the same thing. It's like Amazon did the Black Friday thing and had their deals before the actual day. I'm still waiting.

bgg really should have folks check off that they've read the pinned thread

before allowing anymore to post to "hot deals"... seems like most folks miss it

You were expecting a ton of deals related to a day that is basically a promotion for a YouTube channel?

It may have started by the channel but it's grown past that point which was one of the original purposes anyway. I don't see how local stores holding events and a variety of retailers holding sales promotes a specific YouTube channel more than promoting the hobby as a whole.

Despite being the wrong forum, the OP's question was a fair one. Most, if not all, of the major OLGS have run Tabletop Day sales in the past.

have to say - I think OP's question sounds valid to me.
I remember some very good sales from 2015 and then it was an awesome sale from FFG last year... but most if not all deals this year were underwhelming.

I wonder if somebody could assemble statistics on how many good deals on top-1000 were listed per 2015/2016/2017.

Amazon took a shit this year. Their "sale" earlier in the week had the worst prices on some of the games all week, and then they refused to refund the difference even if the orders weren't shipped yet. It feels like they have been going downhill with customer support and sales recently.

bgg really should have a scrollbar that allows users to skip past threads that they don't want to read.

And yet, you couldn't resist. That's ironic.

This.

The only irony is in watching the forum police bump threads that they're offended by.

In the past geek and sundry heavily promoted and supported it. This year they've got other things to worry about. I don't think it's surprising that fewer stores are taking part.

They're too busy trying to destroy a brand.

Is it anything like national influenza awareness day?

You clearly need to pay more attention to Z-List celebrity promotions.

I mean, this thing is INTERNATIONAL!
