This is a random setup game using all official material (except the Loot Crate), for up to six players. I will also add gwek's bonuses for the starting Fireflies, making extra "cards" rather than stripping supply decks for them.

When you sign up, you may if you wish veto a single Setup Card and a single Story Card. Setup and Story will be drawn randomly from those that remain, at the appropriate time (so we might have a Standard Game setup, you'd all choose your ships, and then we'd see what the Story is).

As a reminder, setup cards are:

Alliance High Alert (no Harken jobs, Alerts in play from the start)
Awful Crowded In My Sky (alert tokens in all planetary sectors)
The Blitz (choose a supply planet to strip-mine)
The Browncoat Way (buy ships with starting money)
Clearer Skies, Better Days (roll for safe full burn distance, no alert tokens)
The Rim's The Thing (no core game jobs)
Standard
Time's Not On Our Side (20 turn limit)

and story cards are:

Another Man's Treasure (havens, drop off goods to win)
Any Port In A Storm (havens, illegal jobs automatically get you a warrant)
Desperadoes (cash grab, illegal jobs pay +$1000)
Down And Out (no job hands, work from a common pool)
Harken's Folly (three goal tests)
It's All In Who You Know (reputation grab)
Jail Break (break out your buddy from the Cruiser(
King of all Londinium (three goal tests)
Niska's Holiday (three goal tests)
Patience's War (three goal tests)
Respectable Persons of Business (cash grab, penalty for unfinished jobs)
Smugglers Blues (cash grab, $2000 bonus for first to sell 3 contra to each Alliance contact)
The Choices We Make (goals for piracy, crime, smuggling and bounty hunting)
The Great Recession (limited jobs, cash grab)
The Scavenger's Verse
The Well's Run Dry (limited bank, cash grab)
Wanted Men (warrant bonus for illegal jobs)
Where The Wind Takes Us (goals for doing jobs in specific sectors)

Players (order will be randomised):

While primarily used for killing vampires, a wooden stake to the heart is also highly effective against most other opponents.

If I were to veto anything it would be the "Time's not on our side" limit. I'll use mine for that if you want to veto something else, Selenite.

Thanks, but I'll pass. If I was going to zap a job it would be one of the "three goal tests" cards as they tend to blur together and I'd rather have variety. But since someone else might like them I wouldn't want to ruin their fun.

I'd love to jump into the PBF, but now is the season for my crazy busy time. I don't want to start something I can't finish and annoy everyone. I'll catch the next one. Thanks

I'd like to veto "Clearer Skies" setup, and the story card where you're collecting things and everyone has to vote on it.

Only on Sunday. And only in one pub. But tomorrow I run the hideously complicated alt-WWII RPG that's now been going more than ten years, though the end is in sight…

Wow, and I thought the D&D (5th Edition) RPG I'm playing in was going to be a long campaign of around an expected 12 to 18 months (we've been playing since about October last year).

Just a quick note, I only have internet access during the week between 7PM and 10PM. Weekends are usually free, but that pesky job, commuting and sleep really limit my gaming during the week.

I'll try to compensate with detailed conditional orders but I don't have any experience with the expansions so even those may be limited. I can definitely check in once per day but I'd like to move things a little faster, especially when offers are being made that I can't anticipate.

Looking forward to the start of the game and good luck everyone!

Robert (soon to be Captain SoAndSo of the WhatIt'sName)

OK, we have our players. I shuffle the setup cards, and get:

The Browncoat Way

This brings Story Card choice up front, so I shuffle them now, and:

The Choices We Make

So to summarise:
Start with $12,000, and buy starting ships/fuel/parts out of that money.
No starting jobs.
All piracy jobs go to the discard piles.
Get a goal for:
Completing a piracy job (also steal a goal from your target)
Completing a crime or smuggling job
Delivering a bounty
Win by having 5 goals at the start of your turn.

Randomised player order is:

Ulfengaard
selenite
Dalek1
hist
GerryRailBaron
robertg611

So in that order, please choose a ship OR a leader. If you choose a ship, also choose a starting location. Once we get to the end, we'll fill in ships/leaders in reverse order. (Edited to add) Feel free to give me several conditional picks by GM in advance.

Ships:
Bonanza with exterior cargo pods: $8200
Bonnie Mae with Caravan Pods: $8200
Serenity with Sky Hook: $8200
Yun Qi with Fully Equipped Med Bay: $8200
Artful Dodger: $8500
SS Walden: $8600
Interceptor: $7500
Esmeralda: $9300
