From Q and A

"In my playthrough, the zombies on the second floor destroyed both barricades on turn one, and therefore killed both survivors turn 2. Where do zombies "path" to after this has happened? Assuming that there are no players in line of sight,   those zombies have no target after they feast on the upstairs humans. Normally, zombies default move to the public stash token and start destroying your stuff, but that doesn't exist in the intro. Unless the players move up into their view, the upstairs zombies will stand still, stupefied now that their hunger is sated. You could leave them upstairs until they flee from sunlight. This would prevent you from potentially getting hurt fighting them, however all zombies that flee increase the Doom Track, so you're next Day will be even harder."

Yes you start again.

You have two choices when playing the game, start from the prologue or if you record your situation using the campaign log you can redstart from the position you saved when you completed the prologue or a chapter.

It has been pointed out to them that it isn't well balanced / scaled in respect to the number of players.

Players Difficulty

1 Insane
2. Hard+
3. Hard-
4. Normal

If you start at Chapter 1 it is slightly easier as you have a chance at better weapons.
