I have the german version.

The sleeves with the size of 70x120mm from
Mayday are a little bit to small.

It seems FFG makes Tarot-sized sleeves too, but I don't have experience of them.

Like the sleeves for Dixit (80x120mm)? They are to wide.

I used Fantasy Flight Tarot sleeves for those, English version of the game but I guess it's the same size.

No, Tarot size is 70mm x 120mm. A few FFG games use it.

(There are Arcane Tinmen BoardGame Sleeves in Dixit size, but as you know, that is too large.)

I used "75 Large Card Sleeves for War of the Ring Collectors edition (70x120mm)" (MDG7100) which fitted fine (this was the play test version of the cards but they are the same size).

I used Fantasy Flight Tarot size for the role cards. I'd rather use top loaders like I did for the older edition but they made the role cards bigger and there aren't hard toploaders for that size to protect them more.

I've got the Dutch version, and I ordered the Mayday Games premuim sleeves (MDG7100) as well. In length they'd fit, but they are slightly too narrow in width here as well. The FFG Tarot size sleeves have been given the same numbers (70x120mm). Sounds like those don't fit either then. Or do they?

Don't believe the numbers alone. They are "for X times Y cards" anyway, so they tell you little of the sleeve's actual size/fit difference between brands. Also, Mayday is notarious for their varying quality, so I would not be surprised if a pack from a different production run would work better.

For the large 70x120 character cards, both the Fantasy Flight and Swan are great, as I have tried them both with this Citadels version. The FFG measures 74x124mm, so there is about 2mm clearance around all four card edges. The Swan measures 71x121 -- near zero clearance at the top (but it does fit completely) and less than 1mm along the sizes; snug, but the cards slip in easily and don't bend. They are both excellent quality sleeves.

For the building cards, you can visit https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/164572/item/5093441#item5... for your options. The Swan sleeves would work well. A downside with Swan (https://www.swanpanasiasleeves.com/ is that they often go out of stock.

My personal preference on this game is for the Swan 70x120 Standard sleeves (40 microns in thickness). They are thin, but I find them more comfortable when handling the cards. On the Swan Premium (90 microns) and FFG (105 microns) sleeves, the corners of the sleeves are quite stiff and sharp, so when I'm holding the cards, they poke uncomfortably at my hand. The Swan Standard sleeves feel much better to me, as the corners have "give". Protection on the cards is still good.
