There are 66 cards in the capital deck. I have 30 era 1, 18 era 2, and 18 era three. Is that right? I would have expected them to be evenly distributed like the production deck.

Mine is split 30, 18, 18 just like yours. I did just notice I am missing a production deck card. Only have 21 era 1 cards.

Thanks. I'll assume that was part of the design.

Yup, 30/18/18 is the correct distribution.

Era 1 simply requires additional cards (with 4 players holding the maximum of 4 cards in their hands and 4 community cards, that's 20 already potentially in use).

And because players (most likely) have cards from the previous era(s) in their hands when a new era begins, the distribution *in the deck* is more even than the overall card count suggests.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner... I have two kids now !

Do you know what you're missing? Here are the era 1 production cards:

6 bedrock
2 water woods winter
2 beyond civilization
4 mass copper
4 barrel copper
4 float copper

I'd be happy to send you a replacement.
