1. Reduce your options.
Always keep resources on your hand (regardless of what it is) so you can never repeat your dice roll. Don’t sell useless resources on the market. And for example if you got a crystal in your first turn and you can’t place it on your island, just keep it on your hand until the end of the game (because it looks so nice).
2. Be content with what you have got.
Ignore the possibilities to get extra recourses by using the market, placing the currently preferred resource, or by using the force-of-nature-spaces.
3. Avoid multiple actions in your turn.
Ignore the possibilities to combine extra resources, transforming resources (on your hand or on the islands) and moving the weather token by using grain sacrifice or the magical places.
4. Don’t save your home island.
You set your starting farm house on a nice island? There is no need to place another building on it. Nobody will conquer the island of a friend, will it?
5. Spend all your money early in the game.
You roll a severe weather and can’t repeat your dice roll (because you follow hint Nr. 1)? Having no money will now help you to avoid senseless shopping on the market.
