With Trigirl being this lock consensus good read for so many people, I find it really bizarre that she's alive. Just don't lock clear her for tone. There's a threshold where if she's still alive she should probably just be murdalated.

Werewolf Legacy, Season 2- May

You tear open the box in excitement. You loved Risk Legacy when it came out, taking over and permanently altering the world in a fight for dominance. Next came Pandemic Legacy: Season 1, where you and your friends took on the CoDA virus trying to save the world from destruction. Now, you need to take on the deadly Werewolf threat every month in 2017.

You rip open the box to find the following items:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rulebook

Welcome to Werewolf Legacy! This is a series of 12 games running one every month in 2017. Each game will be directly influenced and based on what happened in previous months, but changes may happen DURING the games as well.

Players
We will try to keep the player roster consistent from game to game. This does not mean that if you play Game 1, you are required to play any future games. This means that, before the games go into signup, players that participated in previous games will be given a chance to pre-sign up to guarantee their spot in the next game.

Reveal
There is full role reveal! (Unless abilities or that month's game rules contradict this.)

Roles
This will be based on the Single Serving 13-player series.
Team Evil:
Friendly1 Medium2 Ghost3 Werewolf - Werewolf. Vote 0 on evils and remains in wolf chat after death. Can still vote (just vote) when dead. Zombie
Fortune Teller1 Red2 Werewolf - Werewolf. Views each night for Aux Evils (N0 negative) and brutals one of their votes if lynched. Zombie
Student1 Apprentice Seer2 Tinker3 Wolf Cub - Promotes to full werewolf if NKed by the werewolves or if viewed by a Max Evil. Views as Aux before promotion and Max after promotion. Learns the identities of both wolves at the start of the game. When the first Seer or Aux Seer dies, they gain that ability. Zombie
Mayor1 Mimic - Views each night for full role and may reveal as anything they've viewed. N0 Villager view. Masons with the Traitor. Vote is worth 2. Ninja
Roleblocker1 Aux Sorcerer2Troublemaker3 TBD4 Traitor - Counts for evil parity. Masons with the Full Role Sorcerer. Blocks non-lethal actions. Aux Sorcerer, so views for Villager/Priest starting N1. Once per game, they can cause two lynches to happen the next day. Ninja

Team Good:
TBD1 Seer- Views each night for Wolf/not Wolf. N0 non-Wolf view. Unknown Sticker. Sub-Commander (Robot)
Aux Seer- Views each night for Aux/not Aux. N0 non-Aux view. First Mate (Pirate)
Town Crier1 Ghost Strength2 Sturdy Martyr- Each night, you pick someone to protect. The first time you successfully protect the night kill, you do not die but will not be informed that you were successful. You cannot repeat targets two nights in a row. If the martyr dies without successfully protecting anyone, they get a one shot protect from dead chat. Each night, they learn the total number of people with night actions at the start of the night.
Passive Day Priest1 TBD2 Mason- Shares a chat with the other Mason. Passive day priest and reduces Day reveal a level when they die. Captain (Pirate)
Semi Hollow1 Mason- Shares a chat with the other Mason. If they have been viewed and their Mason partner is dead, they die too. Prime Commander (Robot)
Friendly1 Villager- Vote 0 on Goods.
Passive Night Priest1 Villager- Once they die, night kills will be reduced a level of reveal. Pirate
Dead Chat Night Kill1 Villager- When they die, they get one Night Kill. Robot
Villager- Standard Villager with no Powers. Can never gain powers.
TBD1 TBD2 Tinker Villager- Standard Villager, unaware tinker. Both stickers come from Neighbors.
*** All villagers just know they are a villager. All attributes are unaware.
*** Stickers are marked like this1 to make it clear what is a sticker and what is an attribute.

Night Action Order
Sorcerer/Seer/Aux Seer View
Martyr Protect
Night Kill

Legacy Mechanisms
There are three Legacy mechanisms that will be used throughout the series:
1) Evolving Roleset. Each game, the first two good roles and first evil role to die will gain a sticker. Everyone will know who got the stickers but not what they were.
2) Rotating Theme. Throughout the series, each game will have a theme based on a previous Werewolf game that will be announced at the start. All stickers and role changes will fit within the universe of this game but will be applicable for future games in the series. There may be additional rules or mechanisms that will be announced before the game as a part of being in this world.
3) Conditional Envelopes. There is an assortment of envelopes in this box with specific conditions that need to be met for them to be opened. They fall into two categories: Immediate and Between Games. If an immediate condition is met, open that envelope immediately and do whatever it says. If a Between Games condition is met, the envelope will be opened at the end of the game. Whenever an envelope is opened, it will be announced to the thread that the conditions have been met and what impact it has on the game. If the conditions are something like "a player accidentally views someone dead", it will not be announced which role fulfilled those conditions.

Standard Werewolf Game Rules
All standard rules and victory conditions apply.
- No quoting modchat or mod provided information.
- Conditional orders are accepted.
- Brutals are mandatory and will be randomized between members of your team if you don't have a valid order in.
- Don't be a dick.

Specific Werewolf Game Rules

May's Game: Zombies Pirates Ninjas Robots Monkeys III - Kima's Tropes-ical Monkey Island Pair-o-dice Resort - DAY 3 NEED REPLACEMENT FOR THE GODLESS

New Rules:

Zombies, Ninjas, Pirates, and Robots:

Both Werewolves and the Wolf Cub are Zombies. The Evil Masons are Ninjas. The Seer and Aux Seer are the Sub-Commander and First Mate respectively and will view for Zombies and Ninjas this game respectively. The Good Masons are the Prime Commander and Pirate Captain. There will be a hidden Pirate and Robot Villager (1 of each). The Martyr and remaining Villagers will be Tourists.

The first Zombie to die is Tough. The first Ninja to die is Brutal. The Pirate Captain and Prime Commander both view for their team each night (and will get hits on Tinkers). No Victory Conditions change.

Locations:

There will be several locations in this game. Locations may be visited during the night phase for various reasons, including searching for items. In most locations a certain unspecified number of items will be placed at the beginning of the game, and once all are found no searches in that area will succeed. Locations that allow a limited number of players will be filled randomly from those players that request that location, except that some items may give a player priority over other players to get into certain locations. You may provide both a first choice and second choice of location for the night; if no location is provided, or you do not get into your first or second choice, you will automatically go to the Beach for the night.

The Night Club
- The place to be if you're looking for a drink, a dance, and a good time. The Night Club can be searched for items (50% chance of finding an item if any remain). Anyone else at the Night Club will have a 1 in 3 chance of spotting that you've found an item, and if they do they have another 1 in 3 chance of spotting what it is you found! A maximum of five players per night may enter the Night Club. More items are stashed in the Night Club than any other location at the start of the game.

The Casino - Need more money? Try your luck at the Casino! Pick any one of four games to play for a chance to increase your funds, you can put down any amount (up to the cash you have on hand) in each of the games. If you lose, you lose the cash; win, and you win the prize indicated.

- Blackjack - 50% chance to double the money you put down.
- Craps - 33% chance to triple the money you put down.
- Texas Hold'em - 25% chance to quadruple the money you put down.
- Slots- 10% chance to increase your money down by 10x.

You can also search the Casino (25% chance of finding an item if any remain), but you have to play a game regardless. Any player playing Blackjack, Craps, or Texas Hold'em will spot any other players playing the same game. Maximum of 5 players per night at the Casino.

The Hot Tub - Come relax and chat with your fellow visitors - no children and no bathing suits permitted. Players who go to the Hot Tub will be put in a private chat for the night phase. Maximum of 3 players per night in the Hot Tub. Hot Tub may be searched for items (33% chance of finding any items if any remain) but all other players in the Hot Tub will see if you find an item there, though not what it is.

The Spa - Come relax and get a five-star spa treatment - manicure, massage, mud bath, more! Players who spend the night in the spa cannot be targeted by any power (view, protection, etc.) except for night kills. The Spa costs $200 per night per player. Maximum 2 players per night. 33% chance of finding an item with a search.

The Beach - Join the crowd at the bonfire and enjoy the sound of the pounding surf. Nothing special here, except that new items are added to the beach, so there is potentially always something to find here (25% chance of finding anything currently at the beach). Items from deceased players, that are not otherwise destroyed by death, end up somewhere on the Beach. All players who are not at another location will be at the Beach at night. You can only post to the thread during the night if you are at the Beach.

The Restaurant - Five star restaurant? Try six. Some tourists come to this resort just for this this one-of-a-kind dining experience. Two people per night may be in the restaurant. Players in the restaurant cannot be targeted for night kill unless one (or both!) of the players in the restaurant is a Zombie or Ninja. Entry to the restaurant starts at $200 per player per night. Any player that has previously visited the restaurant will pay an extra $200 to the maitre'de to get in again for each night they've already dined here. The Restaurant may, however, be shut down occasionally. No items are located in the Restaurant.

The Jungle - Do you dare explore the untamed wilds of Monkey Island? Of course you do, how dangerous could it be? Players may explore the jungle for unique items, especially Monkey items, that cannot be found anywhere else. However, any player exploring the Jungle must have an item listed after this (see Resort Gift Shop) to have any chance of finding anything. Players may buy or find items to increase their odds of finding items in the Jungle - Compass (+5%), Flashlight (+10%), Map (+10%), and Shovel (+15%) all combine together to increase your chance of finding something!

Resort Gift Shop - You can buy things here! There is a chance to search here, but it only yields successful searches 15% of the time. You can both buy and search in a night.

At most locations you may use a "Search" action at night to try to find an item. A player searching for items will find, at most, one item per night. The Search action is the only action the player may take at night; if the player has another action they could use, they must choose between searching and the other action. This means (for example):

- A player with night actions cannot both take their actions (views/kills/protects/etc) and search, except for twice per game. Make sure to tell me that you're using one of your twice per games.

You may gamble at the Casino and search the Casino, and you may be part of the Hot Tub chat and search the Hot Tub.

Items:

Cash Stash - Lucky you, you found some previous tourist's lost money clip. Adds money to your total.

Chainsaw - The best weapon to have when zombies attack. A player with a chainsaw who is targeted for night kill by the Zombies will die (and the Chainsaw is destroyed) but mark one Zombie with a wound. On that night and every subsequent night, if the Zombie is in any location other than the Beach or Jungle, each other player at that location will have a chance of spotting the chainsaw wound. If a Zombie finds or buys a Chainsaw, it is destroyed.

Samurai Sword - The best weapon to have for fighting back against Ninja attacks. If you vote Ninja and they would be lynched, any toughs are invalidated. If they were not tough, any brutal is blocked by your sword. Either of these actions break the sword. If a Ninja finds or buys a Samurai Sword, it is destroyed.

Flashlight - Lets you explore the Jungle at night (10% chance of finding something). Adds a 15% chance of finding items at the Beach at night (no bonus to any other location).

Compass - Lets you explore the Jungle at night (5% chance of finding something).

Map - Lets you explore the Jungle at night (10% chance of finding something).

Shovel - Lets you explore the Jungle at night (15% chance of finding something).

Black Tie/Cocktail Dress - Expensive attire suitable for an evening out. Players with one of these items are given priority to enter the Night Club, Restaurant, and Casino at night.

Monkey Idol - Harmless overpriced souvenir trinkets, or something more mysterious and powerful? You'll have to get one to find out.

Trained Monkey - Found only in the Jungle. Provides a 25% bonus on subsequent search attempts of the Jungle and Beach. May be used as a night action to spy on one target player to discover that player's night actions.

Cursed Pirate Gold - ???

Magnetic Resonance Detector - ???

Other items - ?????

Items may be given to another player at night, if the donor and receiver are at the same location. This applies to the evil teams as well - Zombies cannot pass items to other Zombies unless they end up at the same location, and Ninjas cannot pass items to other Ninjas unless they end up at the same location.

Note that for both money and item passes, in most cases you DO NOT know what location another player will end up in. There are exceptions, of course. If you do see another player in your location (e.g., you spot someone get something at the Night Club, you play the same game at the Casino, you're in the Hot Tub together, etc.), you may then pass items or money to that player. You may also enter conditional pass orders.

*Note that 80% of this post was lovingly ripped off from Kima with his permission.

Additional Rules

Stickers Defined:

There will be a hard limit of three stickers on a role. If someone has a role that would get a 4th sticker, they get to choose at the start of the game which sticker to get rid of for the new one. If it is a villager with an unknown trait, the player that had that role last game will get to pick instead.

Apprentice Seer- Promotes to Seer/Aux Seer when the first one dies.

Aux Sorcerer- Views each night for Priests and Villagers. Gets hits on both and clears on anything that isn't either of those things. No N0 view.

Dead Chat Night Kill- Self Explanatory. Processed at Dawn.

Fortune Teller- Views for Aux Evils.

Friendly- Your vote is worth 0 against players of your alignment.

Ghost- Continues to vote after death.

Ghost Strength- If the martyr has not successfully protected anyone from death, once per game, they may use a bodyguard save to prevent someone from dying.

Mayor- Vote is worth 2.

Medium- When this player dies, the will remain in any chats they have available and also be put in dead chat.

Normal- This only applies to the tinker. This opens them up to be viewed as a regular Villager on N0 only. After that, they go back to normal.

Passive Day/Night Priest- Lowers reveal a level when they die for their time period.

Red- Brutals a voter when lynched.

Roleblocker- Each night you may target someone, preventing them from taking any non-lethal actions.

Semi-Hollow- If certain conditions are met (including being viewed), this role will die. For the Mason, they must both be viewed and their partner be dead.

Student- If viewed by a Max Evil, this cub will promote to full Werewolf.

Town Crier- Learns the # of roles with night actions at Dawn.

Troublemaker- OPG causes there to be two lynches the next day.

WW Legacy S2 Feb- Is it my day to claim Seer?- Good wins!
WW Legacy S2 Mar- Auxpocalypse- Good wins!
WW Legacy S2 Apr- This is my hint post- Evil wins!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mod Notes:
75% of the series is designed. This means that there will not be very much dynamic balancing, but I am waiting to see how well a few of the mechanisms work.

The original Werewolf Legacy series was put together with the help and feedback of Phelanpt based on a discussion in the Village Square board gaming thread and a suggestion by dbmurph22. The recommendation to use the Your Own Choice series came from SaiSaysPlayGo.

This is mod!LJ’s standard rules post. Some of this might not apply. Ignore it if it doesn’t.

Friendly Game: First and foremost, this is a friendly game. Don’t be mean to people. Things like name calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated and may result in a perma-ban from my games if I tell you that you are crossing lines and you don’t stop. If you feel like someone else crossed a line, let me know, and I can talk to them for you.

Conditional Orders: These are accepted for orders, views, kills, et cetera. They can be things like “If Irina flips Seer, NK Belash instead”, “If 4th is lynched, view Lemon”, or even “Consider Ziilch my perma-backup view if I don’t have a valid order in.” They can’t be things like, “If someone hard claims Seer between now and dawn, protect them.” If you’re unsure, just ask!

Deadlines: All deadlines are X:X0:59. That means that if dusk is at 2pm, any posts with 2:00pm timestamp are valid. If Dawn is at 12:30, orders with a 12:31 timestamp will not be accepted. If a deadline happens and I don’t call dawn/dusk/give results/etc, hold the horse. I’ll be there shortly.

Brutal Orders: Brutals are mandatory unless otherwise stated. If you are brutal and do not have a valid order or conditional in place, your brutal will take out someone from your own team. So be sure to use orders and add conditionals if you might have a brutal.

Speeding Things Up: Nightfalls are valid options. If nightfall votes happen such that lynch results are locked, I will process dusk. If this is a game with vote manipulation, I will not unless there’s enough of a margin that any voting manipulation will not be given away. Unless I say otherwise, locking your game orders at night will speed up dawn.

Minimum Requirements: This falls between a Post for Your Life and a Proof of Life game. There is no minimum posting requirement, but if you’re not engaged in the game, I might replace you out. If you’re only going to make 1 post each day, they better be good posts. Likewise, if you miss a set of night orders, you can’t make them up, and I will replace you out. You don’t have to be omnipresent, but you need to be playing.

ModChat Information: Doing anything akin to flipping your card or talking about the color of your hat will result in a modkill. This includes: directly quoting modchats, using or faking screenshots of anything in Cassandra, or having people verify information by giving out the 10th word or letter that they get. This could also include things like, “LJ was late giving out views. Tell me what time she gave them out.” For more information and clarifications on this, please see this post.

Starts When Full: If this is a starts when full game, as soon as the game fills, I will post a message saying that it’s full and giving people warning that I will put it into start mode the next night. The exception to this rule is a game that fills the week that it’s put up. Those will start immediately.

Deleting/Editing Posts:
Do not ever delete a post. It may result in a modkill but will definitely result in a loss, even if your team wins. Please do not edit posts too often, and be sure to indicate what you changed. If you edit a vote, you will be considered to have voted there, especially if you nightfall.

Other: If something comes up that I don’t address in the rules, I will use my best judgment when resolving it. If the Lynch/Night time are different in the OP and Cassy, assume that Cassy is right. If I screw something up, I will retcon or change things to even it out with both sides. If it’s pre-D2, I may re-roll.

Don’t be a dick.

Have fun!

Quick Rules Adjustment:

Night will be a full hour and a half this game. This will give everyone full time to take advantage of the nighttime options. You will also only be able to post to the thread if you are at the Beach.

I'm also tweaking the rules to allow players with views and wolves that put in the NK the ability to search a location and still do their action twice per game. All actions are grouped, so if you have multiple ones (like a viewing wolf), you can either choose to search or do your actions, except for the twice per game exception.

We will also do N0 location actions, so any viewing roles will need to choose to get an N0 view OR search a location, unless they're using one of the two double uses.

Give me a bit to finish setting up orders and stuff before asking things about this or putting in order.

Thanks!

Everyone should have their order!

Please submit your Location picks and any other N0 selections ASAP! Then LOCK YOUR ORDERS. As soon as there are 15 locked orders, I will give an updated timeline, tell you which location you're visiting, and then give you the option to search or not.

Thanks!

Hokay. We're down 2 more people with a third being fairly unavailable and a few people having stuff later in the week. So we have two options. I can bring in a bunch of replacements and we'll just have to sort through what to do with the roster for June and on, or I can leave the game open and active for ~2-3 weeks (since I will NOT run this concurrently with the first week or two of Harry Potter) and we can do games two of the last three weeks in June.

With Trigirl being this lock consensus good read for so many people, I find it really bizarre that she's alive. Just don't lock clear her for tone. There's a threshold where if she's still alive she should probably just be murdalated.

Ok, we're doing it now.

Everyone should have their N0 location.

I need to know:
1) Do you want to search?
1a) If you have night actions, do you want to use one of your double nights or just skip any N0s?
2) Do you want to partake in your location's options?
2a) Casino- How much do you want to gamble where?
2b) Gift Shot- What would you like to buy?

Dawn will be at the normal time tomorrow. If you don't put in options, I will assume that you only want to search if you have no N0 night actions.

Copypasting in Werewolf Games

The Intent
In face to face werewolf games, if you flip your card to prove that you are a villager or look at your card to talk about how the hat is green or there are two buttons on his jacket, you get modkilled. This is because it is against the spirit of the game. The point of werewolf is to use logic, feelings, and deduction to determine who is good and who is evil. It gets harder and more complicated with many of the games online since there are so many more moving pieces, but the general principle is: you cannot metagame information to prove your claim. A general rule of thumb is: if it cannot be convincingly faked, don't do it.

Specific Rules
1) Typing out something exactly is the same thing as copy pasting. The entire point is that you can't pass on the exact same information in the right order.

2) Do not ever copy something directly from your modchat.

Quote:
LJ said that this is what his power is: ljtrigirl Apr 16, 03:03 PM: Hellfire (x/2)- Inherent- Each day, gain an ability of dead person where x is the cost of that ability.

3) Do not refer to specific messages posted by the mod in an attempt to clear yourself.

Quote:
The mod told me I was a villager at 9:08PM.

4) Do not copy Cassandra time stamps from chats with other players.

Quote:
Dug said that they are mod confirmed good: Dug Apr 22, 11:02 AM: everyone in the mind is cleared as good by the moderator

5) Do not ever screenshot Cassy.

Quote:
See? Cassy says I'm good!

More Examples:

Not OK wrote:
According to Cassy, my brutal order is Brutalize.

Not OK wrote:
Shawna said that her power lets her "Pick an emotion to improve their abilities. This can only be used once per movie by any emotion."

OK wrote:
Shawna can make abilities of the other emotions better, but it's a once a day thing.

Not OK wrote:
The third letter of the third word in the role description is F.

Not OK wrote:
The mod was late with views and posted them at 11:15 instead of 11:10.

Exceptions
There are always exceptions, but those are usually on a mod-to-mod or game-to-game basis. For example, in Game 2500, nolemonplease and I allowed players to share the exact Cassandra tallies (including formatting) through chats. Some games with chatting capabilities let players copy/paste things that other players tell them in chats, but most do not. In general, assume that you ARE NOT allowed to do it, unless you get mod permission.

I want to make sure that everyone reads this before this game and keeps it in mind. We have a lot of newer players, and I will (and have) modkilled people for violating things like this.

A Tropical Resort

You let them get away last game, but now it's time to track down the rogue agents that fled together. Their twins have joined the game, along with replacement agents for a few people that needed a vacation. You know that they're somewhere at this tropical resort. But can you bring them in peacefully?

You may post. First lynch will be Tuesday.

My pronoun preferences are fairly easy going, though, and as long as you don't correct OTHER people's pronoun usage, you can call me whatever you want.

So I think this might be my shot at a good 2017 Legacy experience. It hasn't been anyone's fault, LJ's run a good game set, but my weeks and roles and how the game have played out for me personally hasn't gone well. I'd like to ask all of you, within sportsmanly terms, to help me make this the turnaround game. I don't need to win, but I am seeking a positive experience to disprove the thought that it is cursed for me.

I did. I think I've put the horrors of Viewpalooza behind me.

No promises on whether I'll have flashbacks if I see Korte or Avin, though. zombie
