Any release updates? Question from reading the rules looks like in movement and distance counting, you can use 1 diagonal and the rest must be strait moves?

You can move diagonally as far as your movement points/action points allow.

For instance. You may move one square diagonally in the open for the cost of one movement point which is the same as if you were conducting an orthogonal move. However, if you were to move two squares diagonally in the open, it would cost you 3 movement points: 1 for the first diagonal move and 2 for the second diagonal move. The rule of thumb is: +1 movement point cost for each diagonal square moved into beyond the first square (plus the cost of any in square terrain.)

The same goes for range, however, there is an easy way to determine diagonal range via the diagrams shown in the rules, p.10: 10.1.
