Greetings folks, today's featured card is Aspirant to the Throne for the Sanctuary faction. This is a bit of a different Exalted card compared to other Exalted creatures that have been currently shown. It is a support card that relies heavily on it's Insurrectionists that provide the hitting power this card may lack.

Aspirant to the Throne has a cost of four Lesser and one Exalted Aspects. Aspirant to the Throne has a measly three Fight and Life; quite low for an Exalted creature. You might wonder why this card has such an expensive cost for such a weak creature, well the reason this card has such a cost is to ensure you have enough Aspects in play to allow it's Insurrectionists to stay on the field. While the Aspirant is the figurehead of secession, the true strength of arms comes from the Insurrectionists.

This card has the ability to put in a four Fight and four Life Insurrectionist mini card into play at the start of your Draw step, as long as you maintain a minimum of five or more Aspects. While the Insurrectionists do require two Lesser Aspects maintained for creature limit, being able to relentlessly attack with such a powerful mini card and have another one come into play is just devastating. There is a catch though; if Aspirant to the Throne is Slain or Destroyed then the mini cards are Destroyed immediately as well. So keep your Aspirant protected so you can continue to lay siege to your opponents with your Insurrectionist minions.

Aspirant to the Throne's Heresy effect allows the Manifesting player to put in an exhausted Insurrectionist mini card into play. This can be used as powerful offensive mechanic for the defensive Sanctuaries, as it can allow you to push in a surprise four damage if your opponent's attacked without leaving defenders behind. If you aren't in that position, you still get a free Insurrectionist your opponent has to deal with, which is always a good thing.

Aspirant to the Throne provides a way to constantly assail your foes without too much worry. Having an endless amount of powerful Insurrectionists can overwhelm your foes if they can't deal with the Aspirant, so protect it so you can overwhelm your enemies.
