Hello,

I know ow that the reprint of Le Havre just came out. I was wondering if I should save money and buy a 2008 Australian edition of the game to save money. I am not Australian but the other guy must be. Are there any changes between the most recent reprint and that old edition I mentioned?

Here is a link to the edition the other guy has for sale:

I would think the only difference is that the latest edition comes with the small Le grand hameau expansion included. ( a small deck of cards that was once sold seoerately).

I presume it will come included in the latest printing because it was included in the last one
Depending on how much cheaper the used copy is, you could probably pick Le grand hameau up in the geek market place or for trade section.

Le Grand Hameau expansion is included in the Australian version. The only difference I think might be the revision of the Coal Trader card (and maybe another card? Forgot about it).

Edit: oops, the expansion is actually included in the Australian version from 2012, sorry.

The newest Lookout/Mayfair edition, whenever it is/will be out this year, will include all the promos beyond Le Grand Hameau.

The "Australian Edition" label is an in-joke.

*Every* Early English editions have been an "Australian Edition". Don't base buying decisions on the "Australian" status.

Not sure this is true. I heard rumours that there was an English edition which used American instead of Australian English, and hence was not "Australian."

I believe the most recent reprint also came with Le Grand Hameau, so that is not exclusive the current printing. If you are buying a used copy, you should probably ask what came with it. If there are other promos in the new version, that's really up to the OP if its worth the extra cost.

The Australian Lookout edition is what I have. It plays just fine without any expansion. There is no noticeable affect that language has on the game. The actual game play is language independent with only the rules written, in English.

For me it's a simple decision, save $ buy used, but I only play 2-3 times a year.

It is true. There is no "American English" edition.

ETA: I guess the 2013 Z-Man printing removed the "Australian Edition" moniker, but it's contents were identical to the Australian Edition, and also it included Le Grand Hameau.

Isn't an updated version coming out soon? It may "reportedly" have a one-piece folded board instead of the single pieces.

If Ponton said it will, then I expect it will since he's actually involved in the process.

I hope somebody can post some pics of it soon.

The new edition supposedly releases tomorrow.

It's all about the spelling man!

Harbour, honour, colour, plough etc. Please note not all these words may appear in your copy of Le Havre.

The lovely Melissa, who is Australian, did the original English translations for both Agricola and Le Havre. The Agricola translation was Americanised by Z-Man, but the English edition of Le Havre was published by Lookout and they kept the English English and I am reasonably certain that I was Hanno's idea to make it the "Australian" edition.

Thus as Chris said all the Lookout English language editions are "Australian".

I believe the latest printing under Mayfair has dropped the Australian but I have not seen a physical copy to see if the English has been Americanised.

My, admittedly biased, opinion is the Australian edition is best whistle

The Lookout edition was the Australian Edition.
The ZMAN edition was umericanized, but had no moniker.
The latest Mayfair printing is called the Great Lakes Edition.

at the time the Z-MAN 2013 rules were online and harbour became harbor. This may have only been the online rules.
