Following on from this thread How many game campaigns are you in the middle of? - A poll the next logical question is to work out what is the most common campaign game that people are currently in the middle of. While the options to choose from aren't exhaustive, it covers the 20 or so highest ranked games and is therefore likely to capture the most popular choices.

Poll
What campaign / legacy games are you currently in the middle of and are likely to have your next session within the next 12 months?
Arcadia Quest
Arkham Horror: The Card Game
Conan
Descent Journeys in the Dark
Gloomhaven
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle
Kingdom Death: Monster
Legends of Andor
Lord of the Rings: The Card Game
Mechs vs. Minions
Mice and Mystics
Pandemic Legacy
Pathfinder Adventure Card Game (combo)
Risk: Legacy
SeaFall
Shadowrun: Crossfire
Shadows of Brimstone
Space Hulk
Star Wars Imperial Assault

I did vote for Space Hulk (as I may play it in the next 12 months per the question).

But, in the 30 years I've owned it, I have never played a 'campaign' in it.

We just finished Mice and Mystics Sorrow and Remembrance last weekend and are about to start a Descent Journeys in the Dark campaign tomorrow. We just ordered Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle so will probably play that along side Descent. That's the plan anyway

Gloomhaven, Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Wrath of the Righteous – Base Set, and Shadowrun: Crossfire, from the list, but also The Undercity: An Iron Kingdoms Adventure Board Game, and Skull Tales. Expecting to start Legends of Andor this weekend.

I put down Arkham Horror because my group loved playing the AH and EH board games.

But realistically my answer is Dungeons & Dragons. I play in a campaign every saturday and DM on every tuesday..

The thread title and poll question are quite different.

The best/most popular campaign game is certainly Pandemic: Legacy. By sales, by BGG rating, etc. And by my personal opinion.

I'm currently in the middle of RISK: Legacy and have enjoyed some parts and really disliked others. It's okay. I'll actually be somewhat relieved to finish.

Gloomhaven will be our next campaign/legacy game, although we won't be able to start that one until the second printing arrives sometime in August or September. cry

I checked Legends of Andor, but it's not really a campaign game. Nothing is kept from one scenario to the next. They are completely independent.

Also, Temple of Elemental Evil should be an option. Wrath of Ashardalon might be there, too.

Came here to say this. The scenarios of Andor are linked by a storyline, but there is no gameplay element at all that links the scenarios. I, too, wouldn't call it a campaign game.

Nice Thread
Today we lost our 10th Game in Pandemic Legacy
Maybe this thread will help to find a new Campaing Game
LotR I wouldn't count as Campaign Game

But TimeStories might have some kind of campaing-Feature inplemented, but I am not sure on that, because the game teases something like a main-story but there will be more released.

I don't know what the purpose of leaving D&D out of the game campaign poll is, unless it is just to project a disdain for rpg's. I feel similarly about the "best card game" folks who try to pretend Magic TG doesn't exist. It's like creating poll of favorite sodas and leaving Coca-Cola off.

Edit to add: I play a ton of tabletop games, but campaign-style I have a couple D&D games. And for Legacy, I play Magic: TG whistle

D & D wasn't intentionally left off as my search was only limited to games that are on BGG. The other issue is that I don't know what other RPGs are popular and wouldn't know which others to add.

Conan doesn't even have an over arching story though, its a series of independent scenarios and your characters don't level up.

In terms of sales figures, D&D is far more popular than any other RPG, followed by Pathfinder.

Doesn't the KS exclusive add-on book have a campaign?

Hmm, I only just realised how many campaign games I'm actually playing.

In fairness, it's because you have to wait on the other players to get their "" together, to get through them.

I'm not confident I'll finish them all either.

Currently in the middle of;

Brimstone
Descent
Imperial Assault
Pathfinder ACG

Also a Bloodbowl League (Pretty much a campaign)

Not to mention a D&D Campaign.

Recently Finished
Pandemic Legacy (Finally one that was relatively quick to finish off).

About to start (Within the next 12months):
Gloomhaven
Kingdom Death: Monster

Me too!

I was thinking "Oh I have a few campaign games going." Then I counted them up...

Boardgames:

Shadows of Brimstone - too many ongoing characters to count
Kingdom Death: Monster - fixed group, multiple campaigns (yeah, we've killed several whole groups of survivors...)
Shadowrun: Crossfire

Pending (interest expressed, start date unknown):

SeaFall - waiting for some stuff to settle down and have everyone available regularly again
Gloomhaven - will happen when we decide we need a break from KDM
Mistfall: Valskyrr – Campaign System

Digital Boardgame:

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game (Android)

RPGs:

Dungeons & Dragons (3.5 Edition)
Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition)
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game
