It's for a family who likes Survive! but finds Ticket to Ride a bit complex.

Can't Stop
Deep Sea Adventure
Welcome to the Dungeon (also Welcome Back to the Dungeon)

All of these are simpler to learn than Ticket to Ride and are great for families. I also have had good success with Strozzi which is a stretch but also has been successful.

RA and Sea of Clouds are a step up but also work well.

Good luck.

Quartz good for families, pulling gems from the bag plus a bit of Take That from a small hand of cards. Easier than T2R to explain. Good player interaction.

Can't f'n Stop

For some reason I find that I only like push you luck games with dice and not cards. Port Royal and Circus Flohcati for instance just weren't fun for me. Anyway, I like Can't Stop.

No Thanks!?

It's not quite push your luck, but it can be.

Pass the Pigs or Pickomino are decent basic press your luck games.
If you want something that looks nice and modern but is still a pretty basic press your luck game, I would suggest looking at Celestia

Not sure why I thought of all of my favorite dice checkers that are press your luck, but these were some of me and my wife's first game purchases and they still have special meaning to us.

Can;t go wrong with Can't Stop, unless Dice hate you.

As mentioned before Cloud 9 and Diamant are easy press your luck games.

One not mentioned, but OOP, yet still copies around for cheap is Double or Nothing, The theme might be attractive to 'non-gamers'

+1 for Deep Sea Adventure. Definitely simple, and pressing your luck is the main thing you are doing. Also, very high portability with the ultrasmall box.

Give Lil' Cthulhu a try. The whole game is pressing your luck...and then, 90% of the time everyone loses!

lol it's a game about trying to appease a baby Cthulhu. Of course everyone loses. But the LAST person to lose wins
