Some of you might know that I like to tinker with games (if you've ever played any of my Lord of the Rings/D&D scenarios, for example), and my own games are no exception. So here's just some of the stuff that we couldn't squeeze into the final GoK rulebook. Some of you old school play-testers out there might remember a few of these... Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing Tristan! Any chance of a "campaign mode" with several sessions somehow tied together?

Cheers, hope you enjoy them - I'll get them into the BGG files section when I can.

We have a very simple solo hero campaign variant, but it will only work in coop mode once the expansion is out... whistle

Well, we haven't even Kickstarted Touch of Death yet, so is it too soon to mention The Second Age expansion? It is? Well okay then.

I, uh... no?
But seriously, it depends on your game group. It would be possible to rattle through a Gold Rush in less than 30 minutes, whereas a long game could take hours. You'd have to commit to it beforehand.

Once you deliver GoK will you start running KSers closer together or are we going to have to wait for each to deliver prior to the next KSer, e.g. 1+ years for touch of death and GoK expansion?

Excellent question, John - GoK was obviously our first project, and waiting until GoK fulfilment to Kickstart 1066, Tears To Many Mothers was painful for me but - I feel - crucial to harness the trust of our backers.

That said, I think we can start closing the gap between projects further once people are confident in our ability to deliver top quality games. So if all goes well with this and 1066, Tears To Many Mothers next month we can certainly start to speed up the release dates for our future projects. Especially given how many of them are basically already complete.

Does that make sense?

I kind of like the idea of the outer lands beyond the city being largely uncharted, such that your initial land grid is only 3 x 3, and you draw & place the new locations as you traverse them

An early iteration of the game had you only draw locations as you moved into them, but it was a little unfair for people trying to find their reward card locations in time.

Hi Tristan,

Could you upload a higher res picture of the variants page please so I can print out a nice hard copy?

Well done for making such a fantastic game with excellent solo play. Any expansions are instant buys for me!!
