Source with audio.

Of course, he denied how it went down oblivious to there being audio.

Also, reporter had previously outed him with ties to Russia. GOP candidate has financial ties to US-sanctioned Russian companies

Gianforte is still going to win, that district is very heavily Republican. If there is anything we know about Republicans it is they don't give a shit about sexual or physical assault, as was already shown in the 2016 presidential elections. Body slamming a reporter might actually gain him votes.

Apparently the Fox News reporters are being honest about what happened although Gianforte is trying to spin it and claim that the reporter drug them both to the ground, but that is contradicted by what the Fox News reporters are saying:
At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!"

Gianforte also left the scene without being arrested. The officer on site is a donor.

Also, not show in the image of the statement I posted, it is dated the 8th for whatever reason.

Here is a statement regarding that part from the Sheriff's Office there

Quote:
The sheriff’s office initially released a statement Wednesday evening saying it was “investigating allegations of assault involving Greg Gianforte.” As interest in the story grew, a press conference was called hours later. Sheriff Brian Gootkin said he was looking into whether Gianforte had fled the scene. “That will be part of the investigation,” Gootkin said.

Where the hell do the GOP find these folks anyway?

Deplorables gonna deplore. Apparently 2 local newspapers have rescinded their endorsements. Don't expect any Republican politicians to, though.

You know what they say , "If you can't beat em, beat em up". Maybe not, laughs, but it seems to be this guys Mantra. He will win, however. And the Repbulicnas will turn a blind eye to his deeds, because they are that hungry to keep control of Congress.

Yes, do.

Republicans have held this seat for the last two decades and are favored to hold onto it this week...

and the last time it was close, 5% separation, was in 2000.

this is true, but Montana also has a Democratic senator and a Democratic governor; it's one of the few states where there really isn't a partisan political culture per se (not least because, let's be honest, it's mostly very white and culturally fairly uniform, so there's no real opportunity for cultural/ethnic division, which is the heart of American political division)

Do some research before spouting out your ass.

"That district" is the entire state, and Montana traditionally has a healthy mix of republicans and democrats in statewide offices.

I wish I could say I'm surprised when Koldfoot says something stupid, but alas, I cannot.

Tough guy talk only applicable when armed. Otherwise, lots of chirp-chirp-chirp.

Estimates are that 70% voted early, so Gianforte's probably already banked enough votes that this incident won't cause him to lose.

No spine. People like that deplorable Peter King are basically saying this is somehow normal. Men will be manly men, left wing media deserves it, etc.

I have to admit, as a gentleman of a "certain" age, it was somewhat heartening to see Gianforte (who is roughly my age) slam that young punk to the ground.

Can't believe it's MISDEMEANOR assault. Putting his hands around the reporter's neck would earn him a felony rap in Oklahoma. Of course, most of our GOP state reps are more interesting in plumbing the depths of 16-year-old male behinds than beating people up. Yes, we're a love state. laugh

Normally, I roll my eyes when people start talking about Trump's effect on America after some redneck does something stupid but not this time. We can draw a very straight line back to Trump with this story.

Trump set an example for right wing politicians. He does nothing but heap contempt on the media. He's been known to verbally encourage physical altercations at his rallies. And he has shown that voters will accept this.

He is on record telling Duterte that he is doing a great job with the drug war there when the guy has orchestrated extrajudicial murders. He has remained silent on Turkish security physically attacking protesters in the US. He constantly lies to the press.

So, it is small wonder when some garbage person like this candidate thinks that he can attack a reporter and then lie about what happened and then actually blame the reporter for what happened. There is a direct corollary to Trump's past and ongoing behavior.

The GOP needs to look itself in the mirror if they all remain silent following this. You are not making America great again. Grow a spine. Draw a line somewhere. You have all lost your way.

The shelves of the GOP's spine shop have been empty for nearly two decades.

Trump is just a symptom, he isn't the cause.
