Many of the exclusive characters from Zombicide: Black Plague were based on fictional or historical figures. Here's a list of extra heroes and necromancers from the Zombicide: Green Horde and their (likely?) inspiration.

I'll update it as minis are added.

Heroes
Rocco: William Tell; Swiss folk hero???
Thomas: Friar Tuck from Robin Hood???????
Jeanne: Joan of Arc; from Domrémy, Duchy of Bar, Kingdom of France
Kelsey: Kelsey Grammer as Fraiser from Cheers and Fraiser
Cassius: Gannicus from Spartacus????? (Since Gannicus is really Cassius Clay, then Cassius must be Gannicus)
Ygraine: Eowyn, The Lord of the Rings.
Ryan John: George Michael from Wham!
Hyg: Ragnar from Vikings
Hyld: Lagertha from Vikings
The Marquis de Roget: Prince from Minneapolis
Earl Jaimie: Thulsa Doom from Conan the Barbarian
Sigrun: Valeria from Conan the Barbarian
Gannicus: Muhammad Ali, king of the square ring
'Badger' Brummuin: Wolverine from Uncanny X-Men
The Great Zanzibar: Freddie Mercury from Queen
North the Halfling: Dustin from Stranger Things (incl. w/Friends and Foes)
Billy: Mike from Stranger Things
Warchief Lividia: Imperator Furiosa from Mad Max: Fury Road
Anton Guffen: Tony Stark from Iron Man
Sir Schwarz: The Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Liam: Will from Stranger Things (incl. w/No Rest for the Wicked)
Countess Ordelia: Princess Leia from Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Deathmaster: Lemmy from Motörhead
Brannog Steelgreaves: Dain Ironfoot from The Hobbit
Zee: Eleven from Stranger Things
Grayson Grüber: Snape from Harry Potter
Spearhead: Nux from Mad Max: Fury Road
Finarton: A giant from A Game of Thrones
Lorentz: Lucas from Stranger Things

Kirag and Thorg (Thorg)

Necromancers

I agree I think it is Danny McBride - but it is more likely his character Thadeous from "Your Highness" (2011) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1240982/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_29

The back story on the card references horsemen, pretty much cinching it as Eowyn.

Thomas looks like Friar Tuck, but we already have Tucker from Black Plague

I thought of William Tell when read about Rocco but he does not have the signature hat

I thought Ryan John was supposed to be William Shakespeare? With all the backstory on poetry and such.

St. Joan from both Bill and Ted and from The Messenger:

I'm not good keeping up with the Joanses, so am not sold on either.
Any more iconic Joans from film or television in the last thirty years?

You know Joan of Arc is from real world history, right? Also, her real name (in French) is Jeanne d'Arc. I don't see how it could be anyone else.

Of course, but from which film or program? Who is the actress?

I guess that blows the whole film/television thing, cause this is not the Purple Rain costume, and he never did a nonmusical film.

Also, Jeanne D'Arc was a fantastic fantasy strategy game on the Nintendo DS. She might be based on that character and not some actress.

Yup, same conclusion.

Looks like Ragnar lothbrok and Lagertha that from history's Vikings made the list as well

Cassius reminds me of the character Barca from Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Maybe some of his backstory and name is a tribute to Muhammad Ali, but his actual design doesn't remind me of Ali at all.

I was going to ask if maybe he was from one of the Sparticus shows, Rome, or some other show because I didn't think they'd do an Ali one that didn't look anything like him.

Not all William Tell's have that same hat.

I wonder if Thomas might be a Friar Tuck from a specific movie , like Robin Hood with Russell Crowe? (I didn't see it.) The picture does kind of remind me of Eugene Pallette's Frida Tuck from Errol Flynn's Adventures of Robin Hood.

Ah, I knew I recognized him, but couldn't place him. I think it's Thulsa Doom, though.
