New Dia die Los Muertos. Lighter, sillier, and Stickers.
This game appears to be a successor to
Heroquest. It takes the same basic idea of rolling dice, and summing the hits.
There are some differences:
1. There are different colored dice, that grow in strength as character levels progress. One extra die is rolled with many weapons that give them weird tweaks.
2. Characters do progress. After 4 adventures the characters gain levels, which gives them additional HP, magic points, and access to better treasures in the treasure chests.
The other form of character progression is the ton of things lying around the dungeon in chests. Each adventure will get you 10-12 new weapons---of which you can carry 4-5 per character.
3. The two mages have a few different spells to cast, and use mana points to cast them.
4. You get traps. Step on the wrong square and something bad happens.
The adventures are very Heroquest-like. You get the room layout and the critter locations.
My concern with the game is with the scenario design. The first three adventures slowly ramp up in difficulty. As you get more weapons and trinkets, the characters get more powerful and everythings seems ok.
The Fourth Adventure is hard. The critters in it are huge and evil, and seems guaranteed to wear a party down. One aspect of the game is that healing is kinda rare. This is different from Warhammer Quest, which allows the party to carry in a fair amount of healing, and BUY THINGS.
One aspect that is really missing from this D&D game is gold. It restricts the choices that players can make between adventures to outfit themselves. In the current game, your only choices are limited to picking between what you might find in a chest. The cool thing is that some of those choices are often pretty tricky.
I have HERO QUEST .Can i play it with the D&D
