To take advantage of Slipstream the rules talk about matching or exceeding the speed of the car in front. Does this mean you need to be in the same or higher gear or is it the die roll just made by the car in front.

I only got the game at the weekend.

Also, you may slipstream only if you are in 4th gear or higher.

The trailing/slipstreaming car must be in the same gear or higher as the car being slipstreamed, & both cars must be in at least 4th gear.

Thanks all - that's very clear.

I understand that the rules in the current game are a little less comprehensive than previous versions e.g. the car in front not counting as being "next" to the car behind it.

One good thing about the game is that it's pretty amenable to house rules where the rules are unclear or not to your liking. There are extremely detailed "official" tournament rules in the Formula De files section that are a good place to look if you want a documented reference for folks who need that.

When we race, we roll for collision even if you stop right in front of another car. It's easier to explain that any adjacent space counts and thematically, it makes as plenty of sense that you might clip that car's front wing.
