Any notable changes in the new edition, other than the tin?

Hi Grill,

Yes.
- Cards are now Tarot sized (with some redesign)
- Multi-page rules (vs the single folded sheet)
- 2-player variant
- Tin

There are also changes pertaining to the number of Wild Crow cards, whose number differ in what are really 3 distinct MoC editions: to wit the 1st edition (1st printing), the 1st edition (2nd printing) and the 2nd edition.

Grill's reference to "new edition" is to the 2nd edition, presumably.

This card count information can be seen at:
http://www.atlas-games.com/pdf_storage/Murder_of_Crows_card_...

As to the differing number of Wild Crow cards, owners of (either) 1st edition can play with the card counts of the 2nd edition if they're willing to use 1 or 2 Reference cards of their 1st edition as Wild Crow cards. (This is what we do.)

The only significant rule change I note in the 2nd edition is that at the start of the game the first player to play is dealt 4 cards, while other players are dealt 5.

The 2nd edition also contains a 2-player "Murdered Third" variant (which of course would be of interest only to players wishing to play a 2-player game).

Significantly and disappointingly, the 2nd edition rulebook does not clarify the various timing questions that are discussed in the BGG posts. This is an unforgivable omission, and makes one question with what seriousness to take information provided by Atlas Games.

We found it best to go through the BGG posts, taking careful notes. Where we discovered discrepancies with what was presented in the Atlas Games rules (or with what is presented in these forums by Atlas Games representatives), we deemed it best to go with the play recommendations of the BGG members.

My "bottom line" suggestion, then, is that you need not purchase the MoC 2nd edition if you already own the 1st edition (either printing). Simply download the 2nd edition rulebook from the Atlas Games site, and then use 1 or 2 Reference cards (depending on whether you own the 1st or 2nd printing of the MoC 1st edition) as Wild Crow cards. (And don't forget to deal 4 cards to the start player, and 5 to the remaining players.)

Yet most importantly: Go by the rule recommendations of the BGG posts, not Atlas Games.
