So an instagram post by Dice Hate Me games just hinted at a new title called Home Brewers - with Ben Rosset at the helm again.

Count me excited - as a homebrewer, a lover of beer, and a lover of BrewCrafters!

That's a pretty fancy rig on the cover of the box. Of course, I guess it would be - taking a picture of my hokey setup wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing.

…so do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

The important question here is how does you beer turn out?

I always drool when I see shiny rigs like the one in the photo. I brewed my first batch 20+ years ago on the stove top and it had to ferment in the guest bathroom of my apartment.Serious low tech brewing, but man did that first batch taste great. Not because it was good, because I made it on my own.

Curious about the new game too.

Hah! That's just something I threw together real quick as a table flier to entice playtesters at Origins. The box will likely be very different and probably closer to the "home brewed" aesthetic.

I like the rig on the cover! Even though most of us use buckets and just do partial mash brewing (so no mash tun), that sort of setup evokes the bathtub hooch misconception in non-brewers. I think it's best to impress upon the gaming public the potential extreme quality of home brewed beer.

For what it's worth I started with a bucket and a 2 gallon pot on my electric stove 16 years ago and now do 10 gal all grain batches that ferment in a stainless steel conical fermenter. My fancy rig ads a few hours to every brew day so I'm seriously considering going back to buckets!

interesting, so the game mechanics must revolve around home brew competitions vs sales....

I wonder if there will be cross over between the two games... like recipes which work in both games or something like that.

DHMG did a little tiny cross over between VivaJava and VivaJavaDice

I had a development meeting with designers Ben Rosset and Matthew O'Malley at Gen Con and things are coming along nicely. We will have more information in a couple of months, but I would expect a Kickstarter in the first half of 2018!

Cheers,
Chris

It actually looks similar to my father's set up. He was, prior to retirement, a biochemist, though, and was able to order pharmaceutical grade stainless equipment through work.

It will be in our Rooster-size box like New Bedford and Compounded.

Wow, so cool. I stopped brewing 16 years ago, because I moved to Texas and it was too danged hot on the porch to brew or ferment (I was okay doing it in Hawaii, I could cool my fermentor with ice and a wet tshirt, but Texas defeated me).

My brother got the bug, though, and he and his wife still brew, with a brew sculpture a lot like the picture (though I don't think they have their pressure system on the brew rig like the picture).

I decided it was cheaper where I live (on Kauai) to just buy Deschutes Porter and a couple other beers than it was to brew and store my batches.

Still got my stovetop rig, maybe I'll brew when i retire in a decade...
in the mean time, i'm playing brew Crafters and looking forward to this game.

I'm super interested.. Since i brew solo im hoping for a solo play option. I guess in the second phase of the game you could add extra players that come over and drink all the beer.
