I'm probably being a total idiot here, but is there a list with the names of all the plastic figurines in the game? I'm trying to setup the first game, and I had to Google Corellian Corvette to see what it looks like.

Pretty sure that's in the rulebook and the playmat . . .

But it's not really clear what you're asking for.

that is certainly a quick solution,

but the easier one is:
They are on the player sheets:

I also recommend watching the star wars movies. Not only for knowing the names of military units and leaders, but often enough the game plays out like the movies did.
For example the battle at Scarif where the rebels lose many leaders, troops and most of their fleet but gain a small shot at a bigger victory in the process. This particular move is well known to most rebel players.

Kinda assume he has seen them.

They don't actually name most of the units in the movies, and many only by inference.

Indeed. You can watch ANH without knowing what an X-Wing or TIE fighter are.
Boba Fett is never named in Empire, and the word ewok is not used once in Jedi.

Most of us old timers learned these names from the Kenner toys.

Looks like someone never played X-Wing or TIE Fighter on PC...

In their defense, they may not have been born yet.

Wow...you're right. I never even thought about that, but I probably did learn all the characters through the toy line.

I learnt them via novels. In fact, I've only seen the last half of ESB before I read the novel for the movie.
