What happens to any obscuring fog attached to a non sentinel hill location when the treachery card spaces between causes it be flipped and shuffled with other non sentinel hill locations?

I've been discarding any attachments since the entire point of the card is to shuffle things up so that investigators don't know which location is which. Leaving any identifying information (clues, dooms, monsters) would defeat this, so even though they only explicitly mention moving investigators and monsters and removing clues I also remove doom and attachments.

We have been playing it differently - We set them aside (location attachments, doom counters, monsters, etc), such that they are in play (like the void) and would reattach if we revisited the locations later on.

We had doom counters on one location. And it didn't seem very likely that a site would become less damned due to a treachery. Besides the card only explicitly told us to remove clues.

Definitely more challenging. Just managed to win in the final few rounds with fantastic Teamwork -> Shotgun + Double or Nothing + Will to Survive.

I realise this was posted a while ago, but in case anyone else ends up here looking for the answer, ArkhamDB gives an answer that has apparently come from an official FAQ:

Quote:
Locations do not leave play when they flip from revealed to unrevealed (even if the title of the card is different). That means that all tokens and attached cards will remain when they are flipped over. Technically this does allow you to tell which location is which when they are ‘shuffled’, whether that's because doom is in play due to Destroyed Path or if an Obscuring Fog is in play, but for an added challenge and mystery (and for the sake of simplicity), players can place those tokens or attachments onto a random location after they are shuffled, so that they don’t know which location is which.
