Just a quick question - since I have only played one game with the new races, I was wondering if anyone out there had a good idea on what races to select based on the number of players playing?
Or, maybe a better way to look at it is to rate the races on from 1-7, and base it off of that formula? No, now that I think about it, there may be one thats a '1' and one that's a '5' that compliment each other and work perfectly in a 2-player game.
So, back to my original question - any ideas? I plan on running this one soon with the group, but not sure how many people will join in. I'd like to use the best selection possible. (As this would be their first game of VP, I don't want them to try to decipher what the races do for them since they'd have no idea how the game really works, and would speed things along to get things going.)

There are some races that obviously dont come into their own until there are more players. Both green for example allow extra trading.....
The blue, red and yellow 5's can be used regardless of the number of players.
The purple 6 is very useful, but I wouldn't recomend it for less than 3 or 4. The same goes for the red 7.
I have no experience with the yellow 7 but it looks useful (not as useful as free Neutron Drive though). Same goes for the Blue 7.
The purple 8 should only be used in larger game, preferably with the green race in play (as that allows the purple player to trade for the resources to build a 2nd ship and go like hell)
The new race has a pair of potent abilities. but both rely on having a larger number of players, though the ability to jump between untagged anomalies is their better ability for smaller games.
I hope this helps. Have fun.
