What a dork. Again with the pushing of the health savings plans. What a maroon.

I'm not saying Grover didn't make a couple of good points, but these were smaller issues that could have been addressed years ago save for the obstinate refusal of the GOP to do one goddamn thing that actually helps 99% of Americans.

Typically I can defend Norquist on some aspects of his various anti-tax screeds, but he's badly misrepresenting the facts here.

He acts like torching the ACA brings "choice" to the marketplace, but it's not only a false "choice" but a "choice" to basically figure out your own way to pay for healthcare. Congrats to the poor! Trump has given you "choice!" Oh, your choices are "pay a little of what you don't have" or "pay a lot of what you don't have?" Well... enjoy your "choice!"

Then he tries to act like average Americans are getting their taxes cut here, which is also false. Rich folks are getting their taxes cut, and insurance companies will once again have free reign to basically cover who & whatever they want. But painting it like the yoke of evil taxation has been lifted from the little guy is an ugly and stupid lie.

And block-grants back to states stand to screw over the very rural poor that formed Trump's voter-base, so that's a risky proposition, unless you think Trump's voter-base is as dumb as liberals accuse them of being (sheep ready to sacrifice their own economic interests so the 1% can buy that 5th summer home.)

There's a lot of doublespeak in that Norquist opinion piece.

Well of course. Grover's whole schtick is big tax cuts, and this bill is paving the way for that. They finally have someone with a "enough working digits to handle a pen" to sign the thing.
