I've been looking at Mr. Jack Pocket for a while, after playing it with a friend, and am currently interested in Triplock on kickstarter as well. I'm looking for something that plays quickly, plays well with two players, and is not super deep. Something that feels like a light battle of wits, that I can play while having a beer or five and still have a good time. Replayability is important too. Oh, and it needs to have a small footprint; something that I could play at a bar on a small table.

Thoughts?

Here's a geeklist of games that my wife and I enjoy to one degree or another. The criteria is described herein . . .

https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/206691/you-and-me-and-cof...

Take a good look at Trambahn, Biblios, Kahuna, and Traders of Osaka.

Squirrel Squabble. Don't be fooled by the cutesy squirrel art. There's some deep strategy and outhink and outguess your opponent stuff going on in this one. Currently print and play but definitely worthy of a published version.

Tides of Time or Tides of Madness: card drafting game

oddball Äeronauts: can be played completely in your hand without any table or flat surface required. also great for airplane or standing in really long line.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I do have Star Realms and Tides of Time already, but had not heard about a few of these (Oddball Aeronauts, Jolly & Roger, Squirrel Squabble, Control, 13 Minutes, Sun Tzu, 2 de Mayo, 7 Ronin, etc...) and have a number to check out now.

I'd forgotten about Hive. Is there a "best version" of this that people generally agree is the best one to get?

Thanks again everyone!

I hope I'm not too late. May I suggest Star Wars: Empire vs Rebellion?

My wife and I play this and we love the crazy mind games it induces, especially over which strategy card was played.

Hanamikoji is great. As is Battle Line (but we prefer it without the tactic cards)
