What's sad to me is that skepticism is perfectly fine. What isn't is saying with certainty that climate change isn't happening just because you haven't been convinced of it. And that's being kind to most of the opponents of it.
With something so potentially serious, and with so much evidence that *something* is happening (human-caused or not) we should be hedging bets and taking action *just in case*. If it's all nothing, then we lost money; if it's real, we might lose much more than that. This to me would be true "conservatism" but that term has been hijacked.
The tragedy is that going all in converting to a green economy would make tons of jobs and money regardless.
The Republicans merely want to protect fossil fuels because they have been bought by those companies.
