The Anderson and Graham renowned commander counters list a "Fast" in the Abilities portion of the counter. It this the same as the SA Tactic, or is it something else? Can't seem to find an explanation in the rulebook.

Fast means that they attack before the bandits attack on a turn.

Jim,

To add to Dean's answer...

1) The "Fast" on Anderson's counter is a tactic, not an ability. (Rule 2.2.3, pg 4). That means it can be used only once per turn/once per mission. (Rule 2.2.2, pg 3).

2) It's only available when Anderson's group is promoted to (or is at) Veteran status. (As it's printed only on the "Vet/Ace" side of the counter.

3) It's NOT exactly the same as the Situational Awareness (SA) tactic, as the SA tactic allows the group to be both Fast and Slow on the same turn!

Whereas the "Fast" tactic only allows the group to be simply "Fast" for the turn in which the Tactic is employed. (Assuming that the group's normal status "Slow"). And remember again, as it's a tactic, that opportunity to be "Fast" is a one-time shot for the whole mission!

4) You're correct that the "Fast" tactic is not covered in the rulebook under the "Tactics" section on page 4. But it is mentioned on page 31, under rule 8.5.4: "Groups that are Fast, or use a ... Fast Commander Tactic, can attack the Bandits first."

5) And finally, Graham doesn't show "Fast" on his counter. At least now in my copy. Are you thinking of something different?
