Hi there!
Is there any reason why there are different memory stripes (from 1 to 5)?
Is that of any importance if you collect them? Or did they simply had no more ideas for encounters?
Thanks

Johannes

I'm not sure of I understand your question correctly.

Every character has 5 personal memory stripes and 5 "regular" memory stripes.

The 5 personal stripes give you great abilities.

The 5 memory stripes everyone has are usually bad for you.
After resolving those stripes you collect them because you can trade 2 memory stripes for one of the character skills you placed under your character sheet in the beginning of the game.

Yes, I understand that. But the bad memory stripes have numbers from one to five...and every character has the same bad memories...so I was a little confused, because they are identical...
Anyway, thanks for your answer...I problably overinterpreted things a bit.

This would be my guess.

I'm a bit confused with the memory deck setup. Aside from the 5 personal ones, do you shuffle the rest and deal 5 out to each player?

Yes, exactly...you shuffle the personal ones and five others into a deck of ten and then give it to the player.

Sounds like a translation issue here:

Each player takes their personal 5 memory cards, and a set of memory cards numbered 1-5. These ten cards form that player's Memory deck. This deck is then shuffled before the game begins.

DON'T shuffle all of the numbered cards together and deal five to each player. Each player should have numbers 1-5.

Ok the way the cards are stacked I thought cards 1-5 were for a specific character in the game. I guess I can have the players pick before they shuffle. Thanks

There are five cards that are specific too the character, and five that are the same for every character. So a player should get those for his character, plus one of each of the generic ones.

Okay, that makes more sense than what I thought...
Still, I find it a shame that they missed the opportunity to come up with more than five "events"...

They might not have missed the opportunity - they might be holding that back for another expansion...these things are prime candidates for "lets slip this in and add perceived value" because they're pretty cheap to achieve in the long run

Sorry if that sounds cynical - it's a perfectly valid business decision
