For the Puffing Billy crowd out there, do you think this could be classified as a train game? There's rail travel but no actual trains......opinions? Do you think that it could fit a Puffing Billy category or create a new one?

Whistle Stop, TransAmerica, Ticket to Ride, all of these types of games, to me, are "train" games. I don't think P:I falls into that same category but could fall into a category the has a train element included. I think that's the same, for me, for Great Western Trail or Mystery Express.

I agree. It's not quite a "train game".

BUT.

For someone coming from Ticket to Ride as a gateway game, this includes both set collection *and* building of train tracks! So it has "train flavour" and similarities to the "first train game" (which a lot of people don't consider a Train Game per se).

I'd say it has Train Appeal.
