just played with the expansion and thought these 2 civilizations were a bit unbalanced, it's a little harder to unlock culture progress by normal means than it is by capturing a game or gem symbol...especially with ignoring the requirements....

anyone else think they're unbalanced if I'm reading them correctly?

The action of taking a game (unless game's Future Technology of History Judgement are in play) is usually a bad move after the first Era. So with Iroquois you have to balance the Culture improvement with wasting a Colonist for a non-optimal move.

The action of taking a gem, au contraire, is very useful in the last Era because many players usually fight for them. Thus, it's also difficult to get a free gem without fighting.
Many civilizations of the last eras have powers that grant gold with gems: the South Africa special ability is not more powerful than them.
