So I think I have finally hit the point where I don't need to add anymore new games. I decided to go all in on LotR:TCG and stick to buying that and Legendary: Marvel expansions. Between those 2 games, and the games I already have, I should be good for a long, long time. Plus, playing and learning about everything that is new never really interested me.

Has anyone else decided to just be done buying new games and stick to expansions or nothing at all? I'm guessing I will be in the small minority here.

I'm done buying new games until the Cardhaus sale starts.

I have become better at choosing games by being more critical, but every now and then there's a new game I just can't resist.

I have thought about not buying new games, but I always keep a lookout for new and interesting games, just in case. As a result, I do not buy many games anymore, but sometimes...

Huh, I said the same thing at the beginning of the year. So far, I've bought 12 games, backed 3 on Kickstarter and getting ready to back a 4th one.

LOL, I am done buying games every time I buy a new game. So many games out there so little money.

But are you still buying expansions? If so, that's still buying something new.

As for me, I'm deliberately avoiding buying anything (expansion and other games). I already bought 2 expansions this year for Lotr LCG and Eldritch Horror, so maybe next year, I could buy a new game (Kingdomino) or not.

Hey, he said that he's "Done buying new games." He didn't say anything about trades or used copies

Stay thirsty, my friends...

I decided it wasn't realistic for me to stop all game buying, so I'm limiting myself to 1 per year, that way I make sure I really want it. Expansions don't count. Neither do gifts. Oh, and Brass Lancashire/Birmingham counts as 1 game. So far, I've filled my quota until 2019 whistle

Hmmm, only 3 games and one pack of promo cards bought this year so I'm on a major slowdown, but there are a couple of preorders incoming in the autumn.

I definitely don't have the "Ooh Shiny!!!" vibe of a few years ago though.

I prefer the "zero-sum" model, in which you sell a game when you buy a new one. I'm hoping to get down to 150 games from 175, and then keep on a zero-sum from there.

I say I'm done buying games, then realise there are games I don't own that are really quite good...

I'm currently 1 month into my 4 month self-imposed game buying ban. It's easier than I thought. The big thing was removing the Hot Deals/auctions stuff off the homepage.

I'm pretty sure you're the only noble one here doing this...

It's like giving up smoking.....the only time you can guarantee giving up is when you give up on life.

I'm with you. I'll be dead before I can play what I already have.

Hell, it's keeping me busy just organizing the dozen or so new games I've got stacked up around me.

Umm ...

I think it's healthy to take the time to cull your collection from time to time. I recently sold off about 8 games out of a collection of about 67 or so. I am hoping to get about another 5-6 off my shelf before the end of summer. If a game doesn't see play, it's better off in someone else's hands who will get it to the table.

I'm done buying new games right now! Until I've played every game in my collection 3 times minimum. Oh... wait, is that a sale? Okay, well after THIS game then.

That is so much like me I always act like I will stop and then I just buy more and realize I have no place to store them anymore
