I've recently purchased Concordia and I love how the map is so well integrated into the game. I love history, and I used to be very passionate about Latin, so this might also be something that I'd be interested in.

I know Bruges and The Voyages of Marco Polo use maps, but they've been out of print / stock for a while and I'm not keen on spending a small fortune on them.

I was thinking of Mac Gerdts' other popular (is it still popular?) design, Navegador, but I'm not sure how it works with 2 players, which is how I play all my games.

So...what do you think? what should I look at?

Off the top of my head:

Hansa Teutonica
Thurn and Taxis
Twilight Struggle
Antike Duellum

I think only Hansa Teutonica works well with two if you get one of the expansion maps for that.

More than two:

El Grande
Web of Power
Imperial

In addition to HT, Hansa. Also Québec, but that's very abstractly a map about a city.

Bruges uses a map? I do not recall one, but I have not played in quite a while.

Suggestions:

Trajan
Clans of Caledonia (hex map - coming later this year)
Mombasa
Vinhos Deluxe Edition (technically it is a map, but the adjacency of regions is irrelevant to game play)

+1 Antike Duellum

A similar sort of thing is Polis: Fight for the Hegemony, though both these games have more conflict than your standard Euro.
They are specifically 2p, and really focus on the historical elements.
