Quick question:

Do Knocked Down players count against being able to move diagonally?

For example, can I move a player diagonally between two players, one (or both) of whom are Knocked Down?

I ask because playing as the Trucks, there are an awful lot of Knocked Down players on the field each play.

It is my belief that they do prevent diagonal movement. They do not project threat, but are still there physically.

Yeah this game really needs a "hurdle" skill to let you jump over guys who've been knocked down

Until then, you can always use fire tokens to hurdle in INFERNO mode.

Great, thanks for the info. I suppose that could go in a FAQ somewhere since I didn't see anything mentioned about downed players not counting for blocking diagonal movement.

This will greatly please the Trucks fans...

Another thread linked to this thread to bring me here, and I'm glad it did for I would NOT have guessed Brent's ruling!

Why? Because the rulebook says that a knocked down player's space may not be moved through - the same rule as for an "upright" player. Thusly I would've interpreted the ruling to be that a diagonal with one upright and one knocked down player would be treated the same as a diagonal with two upright players. Again, only because as the rule about not being able to move through an occupied space is the same for both player states, so then by extension the assumption would be made that the diagonal movement rule would be the same as well.

So I'm glad that Brent provided an official ruling on this!
