Hi all, playing Civ for the first time in a few years this Saturday. As I was preparing I thought 'oh, I should finally buy W&W since it's supposed to fix the combat.' But it looks like it's gone, at least for now.

Figured I could sticker up my current deck with the health values and be good to go, but I'm having some trouble finding accurate health values for all the cards.

Does any kind person know if there's a summary somewhere?

I found this image in the W&W forum but it doesn't have enough to figure out everything.

Any help greatly appreciated. Trying to introduce two new players to the game in the hope that it'll see play more often, so the future of Civilization depends on you!

Re: Help with Wissdom and Warfare unit card values
Well then let's secure it's future
It is very simple, cards with strength 1 have health 3, with strength 2 health is 2 and with strength 3 health is 1. When leveling up simply add +1 to each value, so a 1/3 on lvl 3 is 3/5.

Re: Help with Wissdom and Warfare unit card values
The values are:

1) 1 strength - 3 health
2) 2 strength - 2 health
3) 3 strength - 1 health

This stands for all types of units and there are 5 cards of each unit type and each value, eg. 5 spearman of [1 strength - 3 health], 5 spearman of [2 strength -2 health] and so on.

You add 1 to each value when you upgrade a unit eg. a spearman of [1 strength - 3 health] becomes a pikeman of [2 strength - 4 health].

Aircraft is different as there is 1 card of [5 strength - 7 health], 4 cards of [6 strength - 6 health] and 3 cards of [7 strength - 5 health].

The bonus cards stay the same.

There are also different rules regarding battle outcome, but i think that you can find them easily.

Here you can find a table I've done some times ago.
I hope it could look clear as is...

Re: Help with Wissdom and Warfare unit card values
Put another overly mathematical way, units receive the complement of 4, (4-n) health with n strength at level 1, (6-n) health at level 2, (8-n) health at level 3, and (10-n) health at level 4.

Planes receive the complement of 12, (12-n) at all levels.

Just what I was after Ale, grazie mille!

Thanks to everyone else who responded too, I could have done the maths from your responses, but am very happy not to have to!

I was thinking.

This was done by WaW to balance the combat. However, I know many will probably disagree but Im about myself to pick up Civilization the board game (without the expansions of course cause they are out of print) but Im thinking of writing on the combat cards their health value from WaW.

But Ive been doing some math. I find it a bit strange to balance Everything out. If you draw the jackpot (the highest of the the three, a level 1 3 strength) wouldnt it be justice to have that one down to 2 health instead. Because I still think that drawing should have some sort of excitement, or am I wrong?

Level 1
1 = 3health
2 = 2health
3 = 2health

Level 3
3 = 5health
4 = 4health
5 = 4health

etc.

It will still be a lot better than the base game combat, but still give one a slight edge when drawing combat cards?

Might be worth noting that the base game and both expansions are currently listed as 'At the printer' on the FFG website.

That is very much worth noting, thanks for the heads up.

Why would they, as since the 26th July, say it is on the printer then?

They are both now "on the boat"

This is pleasing news, I was 90% expecting them to suddenly change to OP in the light of the new game being announced.
