I've only played Bull Moose a couple of times, so perhaps my sample size is too small, but, I'm wondering if more should be done to tip the game in favor of the traditional parties.

In 1912, the GOP and Democrats had incredibly well-built political machines in many states. The Progressives stole some GOP infrastructure. This would give these parties a tremendous edge over the Socialists and Prohibitionists.

I'm wondering if the party preference on the board should be extended to resolving final elections as well, instead of just when the state was uncontested otherwise. So, those states would get cubes for their leanings even if the state was contested, instead of just if it was empty.

In several of our games, the Socialists and Prohibitionists won states with just one cube when more should have been necessary to overcome the state's natural political machine.

I don't want to make it impossible for the minor parties to win, or unpleasant for gameplay, but the historian in me thinks it should be a little harder for the minor parties (or maybe the major party players in my games have been just incompetent whistle).

I like the idea of this game and love the time period, but it's completely unrealistic to think the Socialists or the Prohibitionists could have won. Even Teddy's party, Bull Moose really had no shot either. That's my issue with the game.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

You could try using some of the 1st expansion cards which are "4"s for the 3 parties only substituting the desired amount for some "2"s as you would not want to lose any mobility from "1"s.
