I will start uploading printable box covers (as PDF files) for some of the fan scenarios within the next days. I designed those covers to display my self-printed fan expansions alongside the original scenarios on my game shelf. They look like the original covers for the most part with just a few differences that I agreed with Space Cowboys. Those small changes shall make it possible to differentiate between official and unofficial scenarios despite the general similarity of the boxes.
Maybe some of you want to make their own boxes in the same style. Here's how I built mine.
I'm using grey cardboard (1 mm thick) for my boxes. Base and lid are built using the same steps.
1. Cut a square for each part of the box with the dimensions depicted in the following graphics.
Take care to make straight cuts. Using a craft knife is easier than using scissors.
2. Incise the cardboard four times according to the dimension graphics. Make sure that you do not cut the cardboard in two in this step.
3. Cut out the four small squares in the corners.
4. Flip over the cardboard. With the incisions down fold up the four sides and fix them upright all around the four sides with crepe tape.
When both parts are ready, they loosely fit into each other. It is ok if the lid comes off easily when lifted from the base after this step.
The PDFs I will upload soon will consist of two pages, each 31 cm x 31 cm large. They need to be printed on paper/foil that is bigger than the standard A4 or letter format. I print my covers at a copy shop on white adhesive foil instead of normal paper.
The printouts need to be cut along the dotted lines in all four corners and then folded around the cardboard boxes. Make sure to center the printout correctly on the box.
I will add links to all covers I'm uploading in this thread as soon as they are approved.
