Which expansion pack do I need to search for to find British and American troops from the Revolutionary War period? Were they considered as individual booster packs for a particular wave? If so, would I have to buy at least two identical packs in order to form a squad of 6-8 soldiers for the Americans and another two packs for the British?

It would be also nice to throw in Mohawks and other Indian fighters. What expansion titles are they found in?

One Squad per expansion pack. That's 4 figures each for the 10th Regiment of Foot and 4th Massachusetts Line, and 3 for the Mohican River Tribe.

I think you're looking for:
10th regiment of foot
4th Massachusetts line

I don't remember for sure but I don't think they were in the same booster pack. These days you generally buy individual squads anyway.

The Mohawks is the Mohican River Tribe, along with Brave Arrow.

Check out https://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=8099 for all the figures.

For these expansion titles, like Defenders of Kinsland, do they all come with 4 booster packs or do I have pick and choose which packs I want from within each expansion title?

And in case you weren't aware, they're high-demand figures, so they're pricey.

Well, when I outgrow them in 5 years I might at least get my money back, eh?

While we are on the subject of discussing squads to use for Heroscape I just got back from watching "War for the Planet of the Apes". Don't worry. I won't give the ending away.... at least not yet.

Was Hasbro clever enough to introduce apes with bandoliers into this universe? That would have made a fine army especially if some were on horseback. If so, what book would this be under?

Heroscape had Gorillanators. Very tech heavy.
HeroClix had at least two versions of DC's Monsieur Mallah and the Super Apes from Marvel. There are also a couple of poses of Gorilla Grodd that may work.
Dust Tactics has gorillas, but they have odd wrist attachments.
AT-43 has the Karmen, but they are very sci-fi.
Pulp City has Guerilla, ApeBot and Virus, but again, they aren't going to have a Planet of the Apes vibe.
D&D minis had War Apes, complete with metal, spiked forearm guards.

You want the ape faction from Judge Dredd the Miniatures Game. Usually around $45 for the box set of 8 or 9 apes with guns.
