I agree the biggest conventions should have their own sub-forums.

GenCon, Origins, WBC maybe.....

AND

Put regional subs in for smaller conventions.

This has been brought up numerous times in the past. But apparently there are admins that are opposed to the idea.

WBC already has its own, surprised that Origins and GenCon don't. It would make it easier for me to ignore all of the posts for the latter 2 conventions, since my capacity to attend either is approximately 0 for the next 10 years or so...

you are 100% correct.

Sadly I have asked this for years, and the threads usually dissappear. THe alrgest game convention in the world ( universe ), BGG is there with a booth, yet no section on its own. The WBC is what, maybe 1/10th the size?

Go GENCON

Yeah, I've always thought it was really weird that it doesn't have its own section - considering it's the largest one in the United States.

It would also make it a helluva lot easier to find posts from previous years related to Gen Con if they were not mixed in with every other convention.

Having Gen Con on its own subforums would easily be worth $15 to BGG as a donation. It's been that much of a thing for me.

Why on earth would someone be against this?

They probably don't want to weed thru and move stuff.
I say, just start a new folder, and let the rest be where it is.

I agree about it making it easier to wade through convention posts. Looking for updates to a couple of regional cons going back 2-3 months is difficult.

+1

Especially now that BGG has a growing presence in their Hot Games Room (aka BGG miniCon)
