Well, sweet.

I like the terrain dependent cards. Given how often terrain is used in my home matches and in the various OP events, that could be a cool addition.

Hee hee! Kathryn Janeway, meet close-range scan.

Pretty sweet, the rules revision and layout on the card reminds me of how MTG evolved when it hit the 4th edition.

Better looking ships, concise easy to follow rules on cards, this is 2.0 of STAW regardless of whether or not it says 2.0 on the box.

I'm really amused by the idea that Grissom enrages everyone to shoot their gunner when they blow it up.

Kor6 on the Grissom: Whatever gunner gets the killing shot in the Grissom gets shot by the captain while hearing, "you killed a LEGEND you idiot!"

Each Card Pack contains 11 cards, ...

Interestingly, the preview shows already all 11.

Quote:
1. USS Grissom Shipcard
2. Cpt Esteban
3. ET Captains Disgression
4. David Marcus
5. Saavik
6. Federation Helmsman
7. Pegasus Riker
8. Comm Station
9. Close-Range Scan
10. Genesis Effect
11. the generic Oberth class

Usually, there were also a generic Captain and the maneuvre card in a pack as well, but those don't seem to be included in this pack. I don't mind the missing generic Captain, but I would prefer to also get a seperate maneuvre card.

Huh; that was an interesting decision, but I suppose they're unnecessary in the card packs. You shouldn't ever need more generic captains or maneuver cards than models (unless you want references for both players, which isn't a bad idea, come to think of it).

It's also a bit unexpected when you consider all the prize packs without a ship model still came with a maneuvre card.

Personally, I'm more surprised Marcus isn't Indy-factioned.

If anyone is still looking for the Grissom/Oberth card pack, Miniature Market has them back in stock right now.

Only card pack in stock at this time - they have 9 left as of this post.

Looks like some third party sellers on Amazon have some of the packs in stock too - maybe $11 after shipping? Not crazy stupid eBay prices yet. (though they have been that way on Amazon too)
