End Product:

After posting the image above to a couple board game Facebook groups I had a bunch of request for A.) paying me to make a copy for them and B.) steps on how to make their own. For A.), this will not happen as I am not going to risk IP infringement. For B.) see below

Would also like to mention that the end result is not what I would consider production quality but I am happy with it. Someone pointed me to one of many places where you can get higher quality work produced, here is a link https://www.printplaygames.com/

Credit
I did not design the artwork on the cards, boards and placeholders. I found them on TheCraftyPlayers.com. This reskin was created by Emmet Byrne. You can find the post I discovered here:
https://thecraftyplayers.com/2017/02/22/secret-voldemort/

And of course credit needs to be given to the original game, Secret Hitler:
http://www.secrethitler.com/

Cost
Approximately $30-40 depending on what you already have and if you get decent deals

PDF files from https://thecraftyplayers.com/2017/02/22/secret-voldemort/
Grab the Rules, Print & Play with Backs, and Play Boards

You can get these 3 files along with 2 other files; one that fixes the spelling on the Minister of Magic nameplate, the other allows for you to print the rules out in a booklet form. These five files cane be found here:
boardgamegeek.com/filepage/150787

update 8/29: The author corrected the errors so only the rules file would be needed if making the rules book.

update 9/10: Joy Cohn, see comments, modified the P&P files to make them a little easier to print, you can find them here:

Process
BOX
When you get the box above it is meant to hold a wine bottle. You need to remove the piece of wood inside. You can also remove the attached hardware and place it aside - you will need it later

-Sand the box starting with 80 and going up to 220.
-If you want you can distress the wood. I put some bolts and nuts in a sock and beat up the box randomly.
-Stain the wood according to the cans instructions
-Apply 1 coat of polyurethane to the box using a clean cloth according to can's instructions.
-Lightly sand after poly with 400 grit sandpaper, should feel smooth
-Apply the Dark Mark decal, if you have not done this before I suggest looking up a video, it can be tricky.
-Apply at least 2-3 more coats of poly to the box including over the decal and lightly sand with the 400 grit sandpaper between coats
-Re-attach hardware and the box is ready for the audio module

I used http://www.audacityteam.org/ to create a custom audio file (Harry Potter theme music with an overlay of Voldemort saying "give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded" - 17sec).
-Follow the instructions from the module to put audio file on device
-Cut out as much white backing as you can around the speaker and circuit board
-Attach to box using glue, you may need to lightly clamp in place to hold circuit as glue dries. Circuit will be on lid wall, speaker on lid ceiling. Use glue or tack to tidy up wires.

Box is now done

BOARDS
-Print the boards out from the PDF file onto the legal size card stock in landscape. Make sure you are printing the full boards, the other file splits the boards in 2 pages.
-Roughly cut them out leaving about 1/2" white space around the image
-Grab your E6000 craft adhesive and foam board
-Apply the adhesive it to the foam board roughly enough to cover a little more than one of the board images you just printed.
-Use a scrap piece of cardstock to evenly spread the glue out. This is critical, I didn't do this on the first run and you could see discoloration through the cardstock from the glue.
-Place the cut out board image on the adhesive and firmly press around the whole piece of cardstock making sure there are no bubbles
-Repeat for the other 3 board images
-let them dry for 24 hours
-Use the X-ACTO knife, metal ruler, and craft cutting board to cut out the 4 boards. The printed boards have marks on the corners showing where to cut:

After cutting they should be about 13" wide. Make sure they fit in the box before proceeding. Height is about 3.75", but they will not fit standing straight up in the box, they will be on an angle so don't worry too much about the height.
-Spray boards with clear coat matte enamel to protect. At least 2 coats. I found applying heavy left a more even finish.
Boards are now done.

WANDS

-Heat up the hot glue gun and grab your chop sticks
-The shape of the wand will be up to you but you basically just apply the hot glue a bit at a time, rotating the chopstick to make sure it doesn't droop off and maintains an even-ish shape. Be creative and play around. If you don't like the result make another one, they are super cheap
-Start at the top of wand adding a bunch of glue in a ball shape. Don't add too much so that the weight of it is too much and it will droop as it dries. You can always add more if you want the end bigger.
-Slowly twist the wand and add glue from the top to the bottom making any pattern or randomness you want. Again, play around and start over if you are not happy. Its fast and cheap.
-This video shows you how to make them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7WudpCQrEc

-You need to make 10 of these
-Once glue is dry paint with color(s) of you choice
-Clear coat with Gloss Enamel
Wands are now done

ELECTION TRACKER
-Break the earning post off of one of Deathly Hallows earrings so it lays flat
-Cut approximately .25" off the dowel rod
-Paint the small dowel piece black
-Attach the remaining Deathly Hallows piece to the small dowel piece using clear glue
-Store election tracker in small bag to prevent losing
Election tracker is now done

CARDS
-Print out cards double sided from print and play file. This is the trickiest if you don't have a good printer that you can get it to line up perfectly front to back.
-Print on 80lb card stock in landscape.
-Cut out cards
-Run through laminator if you want
-Cut out cards again
Cards are now done

NAMEPLATES
-Print on 80lb cardstock in portrait
-Cut out
-Fold on dotted line
-Clear coat with matte enamel. I did this since these are touched a lot and thrown around so wanted to give extra protection
Nameplates are now done

RULEBOOK
The PDF file of the rulebook will not print into a booklet like I showed in my first image. Use the file that says booklet if you want yours to fit in the box, you could also take the file to a local print store to get it done.

The booklet file is setup to print back to back. In other words pages 1 and 2 are back to back. Reference the rules file that is in normal order to make sure you put the booklet together correctly. I added the dark mark symbol on the back cover.

In booklet form I just put some staples through the middle to hold. By booklet I mean that the width of is half the width of a letter size piece of paper in portrait. I did it this way so it would fit in the box.
-Print on paper of your choice, I used more of the 80lb card stock
-Fold each piece in half length wise (hot dog fold)
-Put together making sure its in order, check rules file that is in order
-Staple, glue, bind, whatever you want to keep them together.
Rulebook is now done

PACKING IT AWAY
Here are a series of images showing you how to pack the game away.
1. Place cards sorted by size in box as shown:

2. Place 9 of the 10 wands all in one direction with fatter ends near larger cards. Also put election tracker in bag on top of larger deck:

3. Insert the 4 boards in front of cards and divide the 10 pouches into 2 sets of 5. Fold the pouches in half and place over the wands:

4. Insert rules, binding down, behind boards. Then tilt boards and rules back on an angle towards back of box. They need to be angled enough to close, you can test close and adjust as necessary:

5. Place nameplates, fold down, in front of boards. Then place the last wand in front of the nameplates. this will keep the nameplates away from the lid when closing:

6. Box should be ready to close at this point. If it doesn't you may need to angle the boards more. The rules might touch the top of the box, but that's not a big issue:

NOTES
I have found that you only need 2 loyalty cards, one Order of the Phoenix and one Death Eater. When the minister enacts the Crucio curse, the player being cursed can just use the 2 publicly available loyalty cards to secretly show the minister which side they are on. This saves on the work to make the cards and the setup of the game. This is how it works in Resistance for example.

We have started using the wands in place of the 'yes' and 'no' voting cards. So we just say "wands up" when voting. If you are voting yes, you raise your wand. If you have players that are "slow to the gate" (waiting to see what others do first) then you can revert back to using the cards. Also wands can be used to act out casting the curses as the Minister of Magic

Please let me know if there is something confusing. Unfortunately I did not document the process as I built this so I don't have all the pictures I would like and am recalling all of this from memory.

Enjoy!

UPDATE 8/29: Looks like the original designer updated the files correcting the typos so you don't need my corrected files.

Thanks for posting these.

I got my own itch to diy this one and in the frustrations of trying to resize these cards and print them in letter size, ended up modifying everything but the boards. The originals were badly misaligned.

I also added an extra card as a space filler to eliminate the problem with using a guillotine to cut the cards apart. One entire line was offset, making it wasteful.

The {Revised} files can be found, for now, at:

Thank you, the other file was very hard to work with! If you are up to another fix, I would suggest removing the cut lines on the backs as they will never be fully aligned, and mis-cuts show up very clearly if you have lines...

Good idea.

I was just thinking how to fix that. Thanks, I'll make that correction and post it later today.

Corrected. I've also eliminated the duplicate card back pages. Print Pages 1 and 2, then print Page 3 on the backs, for example.

I've also cleaned up the Headmaster and Minister of Magic to line things up just a tad better.

Proklamation and Role cards look great! Vote and allegiance seem more difficult to fix, as they do not have white edges.

As far as reskins go, this is genius and completely appropriate. The thought that's gone into this is superb and even though I'm no Harry Potter fan, I can fully appreciate it, in fact...

Our school has a Halloween 'sleepover' event coming up that I'm in charge of running this year. I decided to try and apply some of my old RPG/LARP experience and 'plot' the whole thing based on a Hogwarts/Unseen University /School of Magic theme. I'd literally presented the outline to my bosses last week, but I can definitely see a further adaptation, based on your ideas here, adding an extra layer to my story and the overall 'game'.

So thank you, as well, for the inspiration.

Thanks for this! On your file with the place cards (Minister and Headmaster) it looks like you used the files with the original misspelling of Minister (Minster). The author has recently corrected it.

If you don't mind I would like to add these links to the original post.

It's a very tight fit, especially if one uses foamcore. I'm considering how to reduce the size by about 1/2" around, or 1/4" on a side.

They do fit on the bottom after making it through the narrow mouth. I have an idea for making it possible to lift them out again. I'll post a picture this weekend.

I can tell you where to find it.

Go up on YouTube and search for "Bring Harry Potter to me and you will be rewarded."

You can download it and use your favorite audio editor and rip the track for the recording.

I ended up reducing the boards to 12 3/4 x 3 3/4 and they'll lay flat in the bottom of the case.

There is a wood frame around the top edge of the bottom that makes the upper inside dimensions narrower, at 3 3/8, but that doesn't prevent me from inserting the boards at an angle and laying them flat. Fits nicely at this size.

I didn't have to scale it down too much. I basically scaled them so that the darker surround is not trimmed off. It's hard to spot the difference when looking at the two different sizes side-by-side.

I'm pleased with the results so far.

Thanks for this! I'm in the process of printing it out. I've got some Fantasy Flight Mini American sleeves left over from the My Little Scythe print and play that fit the proclamation cards perfectly. I have some penny sleeves for the other cards, or I've got some better Fantasy Flight Standard American Board Game size sleeves. The penny sleeves are too big and have thin plastic, and the FF sleeves are too small. I'm considering shrinking or cutting off extra to make the FF ones work. I have laminated print and play cards before and I am not good enough / don't have the right tools to cut the size consistently.
