So, in Quest 5, you can have a red shaman join the heroes as a companion, and use its abilities. But the shaman's Curse II ability says the victim needs to make a save. Since it's going to be attacking the monsters... how do monsters make a save? Or do they just auto-fail?

Monsters have no save, they auto-fail. This has been mentioned before.

Another question is if the Shaman counts as a Hero or not, for spawn events.

We assumed he doesn't, because there is no mention of a Hero count of 1 for the Shaman.

1 - Monster don't have save. I think it's mentioned in the rule book and in fact there is an example where if a monster gets a poison token there is no way to get rid of it since it doesn't get to roll for save.
The monster gets the poison damage each round.

On the bad side the red Shaman getting hit from the blue shaman poison stuff.

2 - The Shaman don't count as a hero since there is no mention of a Hero count 1 nowhere in his card or in the rulebook

Yeah, I looked under "save roll" and there was no mention of it, but it is mentioned later on under monsters; poison.

Thanks for the replies.

Another question with regard to the allied shaman:
What are his hitpoints? The number corresponding to 2-3 heroes, or the one corresponding to 4-5 heroes?
Could not find it in the books (German version).

Thank you very much, Simone, for the very fast reply in this already abandoned thread. Great service!

I do not want to insist, but wouldn't that turn the balance upside down?

If you have to battle the red shaman it is clear to me: fewer heroes means fewer hitpoints for the enemy, in order to balance difficulty.

But during the "escort mission", "fewer heroes=fewer hitpoints" would mean, that it becomes increasingly difficult to protect the shaman and get him to the end of the level alive.

Shouldn't it be the other way round: "fewer heroes=more hitpoints" for the escorted shaman?

And on a side note: Do you know, if the expansions (esp. Portal and Act 2 will be available in German (by Asmodee?) at some point in the future?

More heroes = more enemies = more burst damage that might accidentally fake the Shaman down.
