Map slope is not defined by a legend.
For example, from the Auldearn map
Is hex 1104 uphill from hex 1004 (or vice versa)?

To my eye, 1104 looks sunken (like a depression), but it might
represent level 2 terrain.

Same deal for Alford map, hex 0608 should be the top of Gallow hill?
(level 3 terrain)

How are you guys playing it?
thanks

Figured it out.

If you look at the map from the top edge (the label 'Auldearn' or 'Alford' is upside-down), the slope appears correct. For instance Auldearn village hexes are a higher elevation than the the marshy hexes.

Turn the map 180 degrees and it looks the opposite.
(quite the visual illusion)

I should also add that with my 'over 50' eyes you sometime have to stand back 3 or more feet to see the slope correctly.
